  1. I had 8 hrs training and passed first time, I used to reverse looking over my shoulder or out the window but you have to use a box trailer and use your mirrors! It's not too bad I'm glad I did mine for peace of mind really.
  2. I was thinking of offering tipper loads of budget stuff in rings cheap just to shift it.
  3. I know what your saying, when clients ring the first thing they ask is 'what wood is it' some will take mixed but most want good quality hardwoods which I am happy to provide at a premium of course! We burn willow, pop, conny etc on the Rayburn as said it burns fine when dry, it's just customers perception and I think most of it comes from those silly poems and log burner installers insisting on certain wood.
  4. Really! I will give that a go I have a load of goat willow destined for the fire heap I will give it a try on my next order??
  5. That's £60 cube for green chestnut / birch. Seasoned ash, oak etc would warrant a higher premium.
  6. We use Cooper peglar they do a small one 5 or 8 litres I believe. Parts plentiful you can change nozzles etc.
  7. Spout easy comes off, They are great for narrow access back gardens and chip well too. I sprayed this sycamore straight into a chicken run!
  8. A second hand fs 400 brilliant for clearing work.
  9. Just got it! Ha ha must put my glasses on!
  10. 400 miles week 10,000 miles for just one job, Tractor on low loader one trip there one back.
  11. I run a Ranger tipper and Isuzu rodeo but got the little fiesta van for one pacific job it saved £££'s on fuel cost for the 6 month contract i was on, i just left a tractor and trailer on site plenty big enough for saws, kit etc and does 60mpg
  12. Ive only had a couple of 2-3 hour stints on the riko but i am very pleased with it, Its very well thought out it can go on my little kubota as the linkage pins are universal and they also adjust. I also ran the riko road tow for several years without problems and this one is the same only pto version.
  13. My tractor is 25 years old so i reckon the hydraulics arent the best! Mine doesnt return that slow but the downward speed of the riko is awesome as its got the 2 speed system.
  14. It is at least 3 times quicker than the browns hydraulic maybe 4 times on my 70hp ford tractor, I will try and get a video of it over the weekend.
  15. The beauty of the browns one is you can use it one handed Ive also recently just got a riko pto pump splitter but not had chance to give it a real try yet it is however very fast!
  16. That's what medium and low range is for :-)
  17. Id rather hydro than manual any day never had any problems myself. Mine are out 12 months of the year winter salt spreading, summer grass cutting, public footpath cutting, Log splitting, Rotovating, Blec, Uni seeder.... couldnt do without ours they certainly earn there keep!
  18. No pretty reasonable ive got a dealer 2 mins from me and they normally knock the vat off so just over £1k Log Splitter | Timber Equipment | Browns Agricultural
  19. the browns splitter has a big head plus you can lift it up on the 3 point linkage with a decent size table at waist height.
  20. Go for a Kubota brilliant machines!
  21. Great that worked! Thanks Steve, Can you make the sun come out?
