  4. but not one of thos photos is of Squamosus! good find though fella
  5. Its taken me ages to read all the pages in this thread, awsome! A guy posted an image of some fungi on the root of a cricket bat willow I cant find it now but the fungi are Polyporus badius (the bay polypore) doing better in our recent warmer weather.
  6. Rhodatus palmatus, the wrinkled peach, if on dead elm that is in the bank! the crystal brain
  7. i think if we use it with wisdom and consideration rather than force fed and in your face we might get a better faster uptake into general arboriculture. too much too soon will slow its progress as an everyday technique and we do need to be doing this, using this method more universaly in my opinion, in its place.
  8. I will add Acer campestre, the field maple to that too. Sycamore appears to me as its favourite host, very common on this host. It appears to me, that it particular likes that scenario of coalesence when several limbs are removed in a lift situation, just an observation.
  9. bit sad really though. bet it was a whole lot of fun though!
  10. Nah, I aint the best climber i know, I know of two others that for one reson or another I would class them as better than me, Ashley grey has always earnt my respect, hes a funny fella, and slow, but he has the ethics and the patcience of a saint.
  11. so you kind of fell into it as such, rather than activley set out on that path?
  12. Engineer+mathematician+arborist = legend rigging! cool bit of work, makes the rest of us look like ameteurs!

  15. MMmm this is one of those times you ask yourself should I laugh or not! argh what the hell!
  16. Just cos its snowing is now excuse for the lack of images going in here! Come on, get your brackets out!
  17. Blimey rupe you going soft on me! Thanks for the advice
  18. boy theres a lot of different views and methods and routes to think about! seems to me theres so many of you lancers out there there would be little room for another! Anyone got a weekend job they want a hand on! lol
  19. LMAO, was this site a rush job! Im just teasing, but if it was mine i would be on the case BIGTIME!
  20. My only critisism of this method is it always seems to me that its overdone? what I mean is, that maybe we should be doing our normal thing target pruning and encouraging good form but maybe corents on say three to four scaffolds within the crown rather than going mental and doing the whole tree?
  21. thanks grunt, sounds like you and me ave a little in common!
