  1. sounds like both jobs could be done in a day with a decent climber if you ask me, wouldnt be asking too much either. deck the cherry then go on to poplar. Ive got plans saturday but if your still desperate by thursday evening PM
  2. You can stick your tongue out and mock all you like but you know as well as I do tree hosting can make a lot of difference to decay progression.
  3. Fancy it one evening after work this week? any day is fine with me, its close to the main car park on the grove side, theres another in the grove edge we should do to but its a lot lower easy to get to but its a massive group and the fruits are 2-3 ft across!
  4. I am cream crackered! covered some ground this weekend, not a lot out and about its a bit dry yet but thats O.K cos its POLY TIME! early night!
  5. good point, and probably much more likely:thumbup1: I wonder if Hispidus is helping the splitting?
  6. lets not forget the tree species and growing condition dependency on decay diagnosis and prognosis. Ive seen Rigi destroy poplars pretty quickly for example
  7. looks like cracks due to overly long lever arms, that tree needs working and fairly pronto
  8. Good job Nathan, your local arent you? do you have a camera and be willing to come along for a bit of flying mycoloy in Whippendell?
  9. meditation is all about the quiet mind so highly appropriate for these purposes.
  10. really, great advertisement for arboriculture:thumbdown:
  11. This ones at whippendell, you want to catch it? and Hatfield is going to kick arse
  12. oh I wont ruin the whole thing but by golly thats a nice big Buxus in there
  13. yes only legs at the front end like a looper too:thumbup1:
  14. It wasnt just about GGD anyway, was rather hoping guy would tell us more about this system way of being, staunch arboriculture and unlike it is here you cant do the job less you have certification at a state level. I was told some time ago that we in the u.k will NEVER have a system like gas/CORGI, or NIC sparks in this country applied to treework, but they do in the states
  15. Oh boy Im feeling it now, The dryads time is Nigh, energy on high alert, its fungi time again. Look at how that last Phaeolus has grown! and check out these Hispidus brackets on high, oh you know the ropes coming out for these!
  16. He is a certified arborist, served plenty of time in the states, reliably informed that GGD is a big part of an arborists working world in the States/ISA regime? Either way I know VERY little about it and you seem to have a better view on it, so cough up!
  17. I will come back to this and answer it later if you really need me to! got to go out in a mo.
  18. god darn it, im going to be out of a job round here soon!
  19. at least someone bothered to get the right terminology for it!
  20. Im Hoping Mr Treeseer (Guy) a certified master arborist will step in here and tell us all about a thing called growing degree days and how fundamental this is to the American approach. So Guy, time for you to teach me something about this American aproach:thumbup1: I had an Aussie mate on the blower earlier and I need to get up to speed on this and the ISA approach which ive not really entertained untill I grew up and realised that while it aint perfect it IS the means to achieve what we REALLY need here in the U.K a recognition for the qualified arborist and a removal of the unlevel playing field that every tom dick and harry can play in.

  22. as do I, the right duration appears to be 5 years
