  1. its not over by a long stretch!
  2. Why knock a man for being patriotic about HIS heritage?
  3. I am not a big sports fan usualy, and certainly not that into tennis, more a player than a watcher, but this game is tension! tit for tat all the way, every point hard graft! loving this, a game to be enjoyed, get it on the telly now! going to be such a good year for sport
  4. The fact the rain had to stop at some point was considered, but the field was beyond saturation point and simply would have taken days if not weeks to dry enough to make it viable. On another note, this event was organised at great expense and time input for the northern crowd, and yet was not only undersubscribed but around 50% of those attending where from the south, some with a 7 hour journey ahead of them. I am not having a dig at those north of the watford gap but was that not a sad statistic? When this arbfest idea gets re organised please support this event and attend if you can, this was not going to generate a profit, it was for YOU lot up north and if it doesnt get support I cant see it being able to go past 2 events, which would be a great waste and loss to all. If there is one posative to come out of this cancelation I hope it is that when its re worked it is better attended and suported BY YOU ALL:thumbup:
  5. I knew we was in trouble, its a long drive for me to Leeds and all the way it poured down, getting heavier and heavier, I even said to Ed I wonder how many folk we see this and just turn around! Such a shame but was the right call to cancel, the guys camping in the field would have had a MISERABLE night, the marquee, well if we had sat down our chairs would have sunk! Theres a lot of "we can do it" spirit about but this was just not that sort of time!
  6. I know what your saying, but I have to confess the condition that the Major Oak is in was rather impressive. some good reduction work and all the propping she has had may seem a little unatural but its kept her in fine shape. Given her age, the condition she is in is amazing and looks like there is a lot of time left in her too:thumbup1:
  7. IF ANYONE has the ridiculous idea that farming is a walk in the park, especially in the U.K then take a long walk off a short peer! They are held to ransom by the supermarkets these days, you have no friggin idea! talk to the dairy boys, go on I dare ya!
  8. More resillient than given credit for, and they are a crop tree, manage it as you NEED, it will survive.
  9. given the colour size and volume, Noctules, about 20 visible! Dont worry Guys, when we finaly get to do this arbfest event I will besides my lecture/presentations show you everything I can find on site in between programmed stuff, I didnt want Ed-wolfman missing out after the really wet trip! by the way ed, these are for you from the presentation on VTA- lifebelts and some other stuff I am certain youll understand a lot better after todays little manic session!
  10. ha, not so mustard after all! blagger:lol:
  11. Im glad you said it cos I was thinking it was a cotoneaster sp! by the way, the yellow fungi is of course H. fasciculare
  12. As I had wolfman, one of the delegates riding with me we stayed in town and made a journey to Sherwood and Clumber park on the way back. Check out this photo group! Good to see my especialy marked reserved parking bay was ready as usual!
  13. sustainability for the future, what a laugh
  14. FERA say we cant ban imports from Holland because it will breach trade agreements, this is BS! France dont tolerate this situation and ban imports. Im not at all happy that despite the 30 year disease import industry link via Holland we STILL put up with it. When will our industry stand up grow a pair and say ENOUGH!
  15. Hi all, just to assure you this decision was not taken lightly! I turned up friday afternoon while the Marquee was just being finished off. Now when i say the place was flodded I kid you not, on the way in the Lotherton Hall main carpark was welling up, was 1 foot deeper when we left and hour or two later! The Marquee itself was well, see for yourself. There is no doubt this was the right move, you would not have been a bunch of happy bunnies if we had gone ahead!
  16. I would go cappadocium too. and the decay shot is most likely K deusta!
  17. If its a legendary as Bolams efforts I HAVE to see this!

  21. I cant believe this hasnt sold out yet! As afraid of bombing as I am, I am really looking forward to it. I do a lot of stuff on the circuit year round, but I think this is going to be one of the best events this year. If you only go for one reason you wouldnt want to miss tha Hama making a balls up and the opportunity to rip the Pee all sat night would ya?
