    A new one on me! Reduction of a lawsons cypress! yep for real, never done a reduction on one other than hedge clipping! she was a brute though, so not really a typical Lawsonia! Client wanted to retain, some ground shrinkage to both houses fell not an option.

    David, what do you make of this odd little fellow! i think host was a red oak stump, felled to halo that oak in my vet thread last post. Panic fruiting is obvious, but despite the perenniporia like flesh and colour and obvious panic, what about them pores? now I think this needs sending to Martyn, got it in my bag! Not much gets me, but Perenniporia with massive pores?

    I wouldnt mind betting not only is it burred but also going to brown too. it has that characteristic fistulina tar spotting. it is going to be a very pretty slab!

    about right! lot of vested interests herein. Can somebody point out ALL products that Stein released BEFORE they had been done elswhere, as that is the essence of innovation.

    This is an interesting question, the sort of skill and knowledge that is being rapidly lost too. Im off out in a mo (hatfield house ancient oak woods) but I might suggest looking up italian french methods and also the herring and trout smokers in the Uk
