  1. Thanks mate! I knew I came to the right place!
  2. I know there is a video of group of 30 or more males( mb south asian) free climbing trees and fighting there way to the top to reach something first. I have done a search on youtube and forums and have not been able to find it. Anyone know of it and can help to link us to it? Or if you have a favorite crazy tree vid please share.
  3. Hold it under the water tape and ease on with wire fid or similarly rounded rod. A little soap will help. Carefull not to puncture. I have onely replaced one and that worked well for me.
  4. Basic RopeKnight is $160.00 CDN. Basic Bag is $10 or $30 for a premier Harrison Rocket which I agree is the only Bag worth buying in the world. How many throwbags are you replacing monthly/yearly/ or in a career? 2 to 3 mb How many throwlines are being retired due to wear and tear from snagging, jamming? every year or more How much time is lost with jams and snags.Cost of employees and general frustration with setting lines? once a week or daily 1st shot Johnny or 10x I can't do your specific situation mathematics but with my own operation with the use of RopeKnight it equates to a SAVINGS of approximately $ 4 000.00 per year. Thats cash money in the bank! for more beer Are the numbers adding up for you? Besides that RopeKnight is 5 TOOLs in ONE. 1 Task specific projectile OK throw weight, 2 TIP isolation tool, 3 RopeShield is a pull handle, 4 endline Knot smooth over and finally as 5 throwline to access rope knot smooth over x 2, large and small RopeShield There are many other savings and benefits. The best analogy once again is back to the Aston Martin and the Horse and Buggy. One will never replace the other. One is an improvement at a cost with advantages and benefits. Plain and simple Good night bro!
  5. The weight is adjustable:001_cool: 1. You can insert a metal rod. I use Brass and that adds 2 ounces if you had some Platinum that would add about 5 ounces and cost the equivalent to 4 or 5 201T's:001_huh: , a commonly available Stainless Steel threaded rod would add approx 2 ounces 2. Vinyl protector with rubber adds a about 1.5 ounces and the foam about 2 oz :001_smile:Honestly, I have rarely needed more than 12 oz because the RopeKnight is a speed freak. Its the most aerodynamic form(subsonic flight) and has a smooth frictionless finish to pierce the crown, through your target and then slip and slide through the canopy to make it back to the ground. Just take a look at the previous pic, you have to admit the thing is built to do what we ask of a throw weight - Crown piercing, TIP isolation and retrievals. Do you agree? Yep the weight is adjustable do you need 16 oz or twenty? Don't take my word for it but when trying for high and dirty shot in say a Century old Norway Spruce or Quercus macrocarpa( thats about as big and dirty as it gets here in Southern Ontario) I will not balk on the line and let it run to the ground and then attach a second RopeKnight nose to end for tip isolation or for a clean drop along the stem for a base tie. Please let me know if there is something to clarify. Living across the pond and not wanting anything lost in translation Eh!.
  6. Great thanks for sharing. I ahve some plastic spiral hydraulic hose wrap that should work. Do you have the bolt gapped wide open? How are you finding the friction if it is. I ahve mine gapped tight and find the friction is just right at 210lbs all suited up.
  7. Thanks in advance for your efforts and please send your contact info to [email protected]
  8. I'll take you up on that proposition. With these conditions. 1 Please consult with me on its proper use and handling 2.Follow all specific instructions and special tips and key points for optimum performance and successful RopeKnight utilization. 3.You will fully understand all the Ropeknight information given to you. 4. You throw away your fear of an all metal object and replace it with confidence based on knowledge and practice. 5. Any bad points are brought to my attention to address prior to being made public. Is this fair?
  9. Every Rk comes with an angel :angel:that lowers it down and then gently tickles you.:laugh1:Actually there is two accessories 1.vinyl sleeve with gum rubber( looks alot like a handle grip) or 2. soft foam sleeve with gum rubber( like a Nerf football<>) Metal in a bag or solid metal. You will be sure to hurry out of the way or use one of our techniques to avoid getting hit or use a protective sleeve. Bags work just fine this is just my attempt to improve a tool/practice that hasn't changed much for over a century. Aston martin or horse and buggy? One will never replace the other. Either one will get your women excited. I just prefer mine hard, shiney and smooth. Can you be convinced? or
  10. I am sorry you do not like my reply. Honestly, it was meant to be funny. Hope you all can forgive me.
  11. Sounds like you've made up your mind, no free bee for you. Cheaper than the classic throw bag and has a softer and easier landing! You haven't got a clue.
  12. RopeKnight is an improvement over traditional throw balls! I humbly submit.
  13. You can wrap small diameter rope around a branch and above the ropeguide and then to it. The rope only needs to be the length of the drop and I have found one wrap is sufficient for slow control descent. Mb two wraps for something smooth like Beech.
  14. Worked the RW with the SJ on Ddrt, very nice and smooth on descent(no need to apply the wood brake) and cooperated on ascent, just a bit clunky. Can't wait to see a streamlined RW. More Mazzaretti and less Charger.
  15. Laundry mat use a front load machine and no chlorine soap(dish shoap is fine). They come out lookin new and mb a bit twisty. Hang to dry.
  16. I would like to help.

Did you get any help with treebuzz yet?

all the best and good luck

    Thomas

  17. They rarely look good from all sides. so don't worry if something looks a bit out of place. And if you misjudge a cut, whatever it'll grow.
  18. I like it as the Art and science of the cultivation of woody plants. Trees are only one part and not a major part at that. Soils, Micro and macro fauna, the enviro etc are all equally as important as trees. The art is what we bring to it personally and is what ever you are keen on. The science is dynamic and grows with more knowledge and experience that all associated bring to the table. Very thoughfull post. Why are we Arborists? Why do we choose to serve trees? What is a tree? Does the tree connect with us? Arboriculture is religious or spiritual connection. Dendrosychosis does not get enough mention.
  19. A rack is best imo imparts no twist in the rope, dissapates heat well, adjust friction or speed easily, easy on easy off, designed specifically for descents and lowering. Gri gri is a close second
  20. I found it holds firmly against the leg with the comfy padding. This is the key difference for me. I highly recommend revisiting the set up with the Sawpod complete. With straps alone there is lack of fit. A gap/space between the leg and the plastic scabbard allows it to slip or slap around. Its like wearing boots a size to big. Sawpod on Sugoi fits like a glove.
  21. I am sure all of you who do use the factory supplied straps are aware of the slipping, sliding and loosening of the straps/cinch plus the pinching It was always said that Sugoi and Sawpod are incompatible. The truth is I found away to use the Sawpod on my Sugoi. It is much more comfortable and secure on the leg. It is holding up well to some demanding climbs for many hours. Thanks Tony and Di Darbyshire for your wonderful and the original Sawpod!
  22. SawPod and Sugoi = White on Rice. Get rid of the silly pinchy straps it comes with and fit thru the go thru on the top back of scabbard just below the where the belt loop clip is at and then go around the scabbard just above the bottom slots of the scabbard. Stays in place and comfy. I have owned one since I visited the Arbfair back in 20o9. It has only taken me near 2+ yrs to figure this out. Slap, Kick n punch! Now its all good! Thanks
  23. Statische Baumkletterseile - Freeworker Baumpflege Fachhandel http://www.gleistein.com/en-geo-professional-rope/lizard Sorry got the name wrong, it is Lizard. I would like to give it a try, I have been sending emails to Gleistein to see who supplies the americas but no replies. I will give them a call tomorrow. Any one interested in Canada for a hank, pm me? Mb we can share shipping? Cheers
  24. Placed a biner below the Singing RW and LJ for slack tending today. Working better, find I am climbing the tree more than the rope at times. One hand slack tending plus 1:1 is tougher at times and so the croll and pantin help to even things out. Climb style adaptation and planning is key.
