Sounds good to me. I'll send those two off to you once I've boxed them up. One of the guys who has a unit in our yard also has one to be looked at so there will probably be 3 in total

I normally prefer stihl but have been massively disappointed recently with the 362 and 201t so thought I'd give husky a whirl and overall I'm impressed and the 550 seems to improve with every tank through it. For small felling/sending etc I think it's hard to beat

Cheers rich. So basically you have to buy the rings for say £15 or so then splice/attach the sling, do they not come as one unit all ready to go?

Look good and handy when you have set redirects and move pulley points around the tree. I wanted some when I saw the vids, saves hauling big blocks up the tree when not needed. What kind of swl have they got?

I've just got a 550xp with 15 inch bar. Normally use a 341 at work and love the 550 so light and flickable and good pick up/power for a 50cc. I've got a 15inch and it feels well balanced wouldn't go any bigger than 15 though

That looks like a very nice set up there, I've used the 30m teupen but not the smaller one. What sort of money was that if you don't mind me asking (pm if you prefer) Cheers

Starting watching thinking that don't look like a Scott's to me! Personally like working (anchoring into and rigging) off nearby trees and seemed to work well for you putting the gear down in the right place. Nice work

Still can't beat a 200t IMO they are like italian sports cars, a bit unreliable but go like stink when they work! I really like the husky top handle but it feels like it has been made by a group of under 5's in a chinese factory. Inside the first week i'd broken the tool strop and the chain brake handle but overall i like the saw just have to be gentle with it. Both of the 201's we have at work are terrible, slow pick and up crap top end. One of them is an original when they first came out and the other is a late 2014 and are both as bad as each other. If it were my money I would buy a husky, just buy a few spares with it at the same time

It was done a go pro hero 3. Set to take a pic every 30 secs. When I loaded it onto the go pro software I set the play back at 20% if that's what you mean?

Yeah normally mate that tree was either free falled or cut and held over the fence at the back. Stu had put a capstan on the tree in case I wanted to rig if that's what you are referring to? The drag for the two groundies was about 25m and our chipper is only a forst 6inch so I went out in limbs and cut them so they could drag and chip without having to mess about and sned up which holds things up. We do a lot of rigging day to day because as you say it is easy to deal with on the ground but it all depends on the site and how many guys you have to work with etc but yeah I am a fan of rigging in the right situation. Could have rigged the tree but thought it would be just as quicker cut and chuck

Horse Chestnut Monolith

Nothing too exciting small Horse chestnut monolith - tree was in the grounds of a hospital and being brought down to a height of about 5m from 17m as it has been in decline for a while, shed limbs and had a number of cavities. Tree was to be retained for habitat and managed over the coming years instead of just a straight removal. Sun ruined the pics a bit

I've just brought a 550xp with a 15inch bar and like it but IMO that's it's limit in hardwood but then I like the smallest bars on saws, I.e 20 inch on a 660 etc

Cheers. Yeah no what you mean, watching it back they do look slung low but didn't concern me from a flipping point of view when I was cutting but agree could be slung higher in future

That's why we got it in and because there was a bunker under one of the limes that couldn't have lumps dropped on. Trees weren't massive by any stretch, about 60ft tall at best and dbh of 40 inch at the widest. The chestnut was knarly as hell and snatching and blocking that down would have been a nightmare, took about an hour to pick the stem in total lifting between 500kg and 1.2t Ton at a time.
