    Yeah met him this week to go through the works and met him again today to discuss future works, was he your boss at holbeuc? That's the man of kent in your pic, the one I was dismantling was just across the glade near the site offices

    Quality work Reg, out of interest what gaffs do you use? There reason I ask I did a mature abies fir the other day and it was a beast to spike the lower sections!

    Yeah lovely place to work, hopefully more work to come as well. Yeah i could see the old man of kent from the tree I was in across the pinetum, was about 400 yards away. When I got down I went and had a look at it. They reckon 51 metres tall, still looks small compared to the stuff that Reg puts up! If we get a bit of downtime there hopefully I might be able to zip up it but apparently theres a hornets nest to step over half way up! Got quite a bit of helmet cam footage but can't work out how to do it! Think this is the old man of kent from the top of my tree

    Yeah 115ft measured at. Down at bedgebury Pinetum got some mega trees down there. One across the bank was 51m tall, apparently tallest tree in Kent. Got some go pro footage just trying to work out how to edit it!

    Started this large abies fir today. Approx 115ft tall, most of crown off back tomorrow with some long lines to snatch the tops, chog down then fell

    Lovely boot, used to find they didn't last long. Use the meindl airstream now and they seem to last better IMO

    Used one a few years ago, good pruning harness as it's lightweight but wouldn't want to hang a 660 or 880 on it. I suppose it depends on the work you do. For example we spent a month doing council re pollards and reductions and that harness is ideal bit for large dismantles I wouldn't suit in my opinion. I wear a don blair personally

    Big lump, what lowering device is that on the tree can't see too much of it on phone screen?

    Yeah less than that! The box on Kev's daily was already on it when he brought it. Ours came from Southern vehicle bodies near Brighton

    Problem was I didn't know till that morning we were taking the tree down so didn't have time to consider other options. As I said in the previous posts it had to be cut small to get it out of the garden, even with an Alaskan you would be limited to say 4ft in length due to the access. I asked the guys to cut the rings as big as they could as we thought someone's May be able to use it. It's not like we are asking loads of money for it, I simply put the post up to see if anybody wanted it and if they could make better use of it than my wood pile! If the access was good and this was front garden then I could of used a hiab to extract it but in this case this just wasn't possible. The guy who owned the tree wanted to see if anything could useful could be done with it, so I thought I would offer it up on here!

    No chance of the roots coming out, the remaining stump and the roots are holding the retaining wall up!

    Not really cut I into firewood, it's been cut into rings that the guys could get out through a garage and a small passage. I didn't go and quote this one so turned up on site to dismantle it and get the wood out. When we get to site we just crack on as I don't know any turners of wood working types I just went about the job as normal it was only when I started chogging the timber I thought it may be worth something to somebody that's why I put it up. I don't have a use for it except to keep me warm in the winter but I thought if somebody could make better use of it I will offer it up. The only way to get that out in bigger bits would have been to crane it over tr house (which we have done before) but as you probably know this involves a crane, road closures, permits etc and not something I could have sorted out at 8.30 in the morning with money needed for be made for the day

    Took down this medium walnut today. All sub six inch stuff was chipped but there was a fair bit of timber which we had to cut smallish to get through a doorway. Is this worth anything to anybody? If not going for firewood

    Think they normally say a year but you have up to two years to finish. I've just started mine with HCC college this week

    Nice on thanks. Yeah that's where the boss man lives who owns the firm not the yard but we often pop up to collect job sheets etc. As you say small world!

    What was the max height and outreach on the machine? Is that the largest one they offer?

    You sure its brail mate and not just raised plastic around the buttons, got me thinking now I'll have a look in the morning

    No problem mate. Probably more revenue than you think. I got my current job through Arbtalk and also some Saturday work through here as well, sure others must be in the same boat
