    Hi all I was wondering if you lovely folk would be able to help me out. I am currently putting together something relating to tree neglect and could do with some images to support my writing and my own photos. What I am after are photographs of common tree neglect issues. Failure to remove tree ties and guards and the inherent problems these may cause. Failure to instigate formative pruning leading to crossing/rubbing branches etc. root compaction due to parking of cars on soft verges. Bad planting. Etc etc. It is possible that these will be used on a web site in the future in an advisory way but obviously I can credit any of those I may use. If you have any that you think are suitable then please feel free to post here. Many thanks in advance:001_smile:

    When I was working in Richmond Park there seemed to be a much higher rate of decline in he Oaks that were situated right next to the car parks. Cars pull up, dogs get out and run to the copse of Oaks adjacent and do their thing.

    I'd say do the reduction from a mewp if possible as well. Retaining as much growth including epi is paramount and climbing can end up snapping vital new growth off that you'd want to keep.

    No. The light was crap today, didn't really get a good shot of the Silver Leaf Lime. It's there to the right of the house. What an impressive tree though eh? The Lime with all the Mistletoe is the one on the green in front of the church. Such a lovely place. I could have stomped around some of those surrounding fields for hours if I could. A very special landscape for old trees.

    Finally paid a visit to the Tortworth Chestnut today. What an incredible tree it is. Believed to be over 800 years old it now sits as an old mother to her surrounding offspring. More great trees nearby but also the not very well known Tortworth Arboretum. A fine day.

    If you go to Hatfield you will find plenty of Ancient and Veteran trees which will inevitably be colonised by various wood decay fungi. Hampstead Heath also. If you contact David Humohries on here he looks after all the trees there so may well be able to point you to a few specific ones.
