Unfortunately Ted wasn't around but a great day none the less. We had a lecture and tutorials from Edward Parker (Ancient tree photographer) He gave a slide show of his work from all around the world...which was pretty special. He then took us out into the park and gave us tips on how to improve our photography. Wanderd off on my own I must admit. The guy who put together the collins tree guide was there. A walking encyclopedia on trees....so it was great to have a walk around with him. I think his name was Owen Johnson. Rob Mcbride aka 'The Tree Hunter'. Had a laugh with him. And that very nice chap Bill Cathcart.....park manager. At the end of the day he took a few of us to see the Conquerers oak and King Offers oak which has been dated at 1000 years old. Wow.....what a tree. He also took us to a little secret spot to see the remains of the original conquerers oak. Will post piccies soooooooon.

The woodland behind was predominantly birch with a scattering of other broadleaves. There were also scots pine. Had a great day there with the Ancient tree forum. Am resizing pics etc so will share as soon as.
