Following Monkeyd's previous threads and David Oakmans postings on the subject of classic paintings/drawings of trees in the landscape (from the past) and photographs taken from the same viewpoint here's my contribution. The drawing I done lat summer....this year i returned.....it's fascinating that it's pretty much the same!
  10. Did you know that daimler/benz employ 2 people full time whose sole job is to travel the world seeking out good walnut stock for veneer........nice job!!!

You may have come across it already but if not definately worth it. Have read quite a few of his works and his prose is unique. Enjoy.
  14. Richmond Park is rife with them. With all the monoliths and vets there is habitat aplenty for them. The hornbeams are being relentlessly stripped and hornbeam walk a carpet of seed casings. In fact it appears that they seem to just like stripping for the sake of it with fruit and seeds going uneaten.
  15. David Humphries....who's that?....never heard of him gov? Applanatum? Not here gov....is that cockney rhyming slang or sumfink?
  16. I still get confused with the dermas.... What is the simplest way to tell applanatum?
