    Euro 2016

Approximately 100,000 england fans in France. I've been trawling through all the footage today. Plenty of videos of English fans chanting Engerland Engerland engerland whilst throwing bottles p, chairs and stuff. And likewise from the Russians. From all the footage I saw I'd say the trouble involved a few hundred English fans tops. That is a tiny tiny minority out of 100,000. Let's keep things in perspective although a total disgrace and embarrassment none the less. Stadium violence was down to the Russian ultras from Moscow. The security at the ground was a joke by all accounts considering what had gone on previously. When that firecracker went off I instantly thought the worse given the delicate situation in France after the terrorist attacks. All of this is a real real shame but carried out by tiny amounts of people in great scheme of things. The majority of people regardless of nationality, religion, whatever just want to get on with their lives and mix happily together. Not just in football but in life!!!

    My accident

I've certainly got my work cut out there.... Blimey. Thanks for going through the trouble of taking those. Much appreciated.
  4. There on Friday but not camping. Be good to see you all.
  5. Hi all This is a long shot but I am after a little favor. It is in fact to help a friend out who lives down in Hastings, Sussex. She is interested in this lorry home on eBay but is unable to get up and have a look for a couple of weeks. It's also a long way to go if it turns out to be a waste of time. Therefore is there anybody in the Melton Mowbray (Leics) area who would be willing to have a look at this lorry on her behalf. If you are au fait with motor vehicles and mechanics etc even better. She's happy to pay for somebodies time. As I said a long shot but who knows. Thanks in advance. 1972 Bedford TK Motorhome live in vehicle | eBay

Jeez. Sounds a bloody nightmare! This is exactly my point about access. Photos would be good but only if you out and about. Thanks

Here's the maps for your neck of the woods. A whole row of kissing gates on map 14.

    My accident

Thanks mate. I think to start with i will have to do sections of the route and see what I'm up against. I'm not sure how I will deal with the obstacles but will definitely need two people with me. Would be good to hook up. Where abouts are you?

    My accident

Cheers David. I have been ploughing through legislation and looking at all the issues involved. The Forest of Avon path was put together "To get Bristolians out of the city and into the countryside". I can already see from all the maps how inaccessible a lot of it is for people with disabilities. I'm quite excited about doing this to see not just what I am capable of but also to maybe doing something positive, not just for people but also the trees along the route.

    My accident

It's not the paths im finding frustrating to be honest as my Mountain Trike is proving to be a great bit of kit. It's the fact that I can't actually access the paths. I have researched a little and have found out that new kissing gates etc have to be able to be used by wheelchair users but replacing all obstacles with easy access would cost a fortune I guess. It's very early days and I havent a clue what the answers are but in time I hope to become more informed and take it from there.

    My accident

An all too familiar sight for me. I'm starting to realise how inaccessible my beloved countryside is to me due to steps, stiles, kissing gates etc. prior to my accident I wanted to complete the 42 mile Forest of Avon path which circumnavigated Bristol. The aim was to record all the veteran/ ancient trees that grow within 15mtrs (the Reccommended RPA as instigated by the ATF). This is something that I am still determined to do at some point. I have in fact started looking at the maps etc. this will now involve willing mates to help me achieve this if at all. I do not mind dragging myself along the ground to by pass kissing gates, try and get over stiles etc as they carry my chair over. As well as fulfilling a personal ambition I could show the difficulties the disabled face when it comes to getting in to the outdoors. I'm not advocating ripping up the countryside in fact I do not know how I really feel on the subject to be honest. I know that a mission such as this will fulfil a number of things though.
  14. I saw this when it was on before, a brilliant and informative programme about a unique landscape and cultural heritage. It was after watching it that I made a conscious decision to only buy wine with Corks, a decision made easier by the fact that my favourite Rioja mainly only use corks and not screw tops or plastic. It's a place that is deffo near the top of an ever growing bucket list.
  15. I feel for him as he must feel like an idiot. No excuse really though. Should always have a count up of power tools especially before leaving site. I guess your approach depends on how valued he is as an employee. Is he a slack arse who is always breaking or losing stuff? If so I'd make him pay for it or at least half if you cannot claim on insurance. If I had lost one I would offer to pay my boss back to be honest and hope he doesn't take me up on the offer.
  16. Great photo of some fine French standing deadwood. Nice one:001_smile:
  17. She's trying to finish him off
  18. I'd love to know why it is a 'waste of time' to pollard a willow? Unless of course you had already mentioned the long term management issue with regards the tree.
  19. Devastating news about the possible demise of this unique forest. I was wondering if you had spoke to anybody with regards this during your visit David? Last stand for Europe's remaining ancient forest as loggers prepare to move in | Environment | The Guardian
  20. Just back. What a a fascinating day. Lots over my head and many others also but some really interesting talks. Will post some photos of slides etc later.
