  2. Im sure its been asked before, but what insurers are you guys with? im looking to get a 4x4 but im 23 so i know its not going to be cheap, thinking of getting a ford ranger or a disco Cheers stu
  3. my saw earns me money so i make sure its tip top, do the filter with a compressor twice a week, clean everything, grease it once a week, clean spark plug once a week, bar etc
  4. In the operators manuel it tells you about setting the carb/auto tune have a read, cut with it on near full revs for 3 to 5 mins this will set the autotune for your fuel mix etc i run myn on 3/8 15 inch atm a couple of the lads i work with runs theres 3/8 on a 18 and it handles it fine im gunna put an 18 on myn, once yours is running right you wont be diapointed there elite defenatly ups the tonage
  5. Did you run your saw at full revs in timber for 3 to 5 mins to set the autotune? All the cutters in the gang use 560's we all had problems with cutting out to start with, took them back and now they rip! One of the best saws by far, they will be even better when husky have sorted out all the glitches but that's what the two year warranties for.
  6. Like the others said it's pivet steered with a ram pushing and pulling the cab to the left or right. That's a pretty cool machine brushcutter, I still think I'd have tracks though the ones on the 1470 ATM are more for traction but you can get tracks with hardly any gap between the plates on the tracks which are the ones for flotation
  7. This is what you need we but the tracks on the other day, front ones are new
  8. Ive been cutting chestnut at an estate near tadley, what do u want it for? Might be worth havin a word with the forester there, i can pm you details

  10. Mozza you can always get yourself a litte caravan and bring it down lol
  11. cant believe so little interest! nobody want any work lol
  12. yeah its good! doing some large pine clearfells atm ready to be re planted and then some nice blocks of hardwood and coppice sites.
  13. Yeah that's the rate for cutting, felled and converted and stacked where you can, the bigger stuff you roll and leave. Cheers stu
  14. alrite ben, piece rate changes from site to site hardwood is normally £9-£12 and atm cutting softwood for £6 a ton but trees are large, 1 ton atleast per tree.
  15. Im just advertising on behalf of the contractor i work for. Over the next month he'll be looking to take on an experianced handcutter for a long term contract based near tadley. work is cutting hardwood and softwood and its payed on piece rate per ton chainsaw tickets essential if interested pm your contact details with some information about your self and your experiance and il pass them on. cheers stu

    Rate My Hinge.

Nice hinge but good wood wasted there, should be lower
  18. A few pics from a contractor i currently work for and some old county pics for another contractor i did some work for
  19. maybe get a forester or contractor in to have a look around do abit of managment, id probaly go through and thin the oak and ash and whatever species maybe there, straight oak and ash butts will go to the mill and the tops will go for firewood other species like birch etc also go for firewood you should be able to get a good price for the butts and firewoood. The nicer japense larch will probaly go for saw logs and the rougher stuff will probaly go for chip

    Which new saw???

im sure you cant buy 357's anymore, but ive got both the 346 and the 560 xps, both really nice saws, for a 50cc saw the 346 has amples of power and is so light i can use it all day felling and not feel tired, the 560 is also a very good saw amazingly powerful but i had a few problems when i first got it, kept cutting out under load but took it back and got it fixed and now seems fine, depends on what you want really cause there different ranges of saw husqvarna seem to be bringing out a replacement for the 346 i think called the 550xp [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=funalCJp2bw]Husqvarna 550 xp - YouTube[/ame]
  21. Dunno where your based, but i have a freind thats selling 18 metres roughly of poplar also butts of 30 inchs in the basinstoke area if of any inteerest can come ready split in billets if required. Cheers Stu
  22. Ive had the same thing happen on myn occasionally, when you pull the throttle theres a momenterry blurr like you said but after that its fine, maybe its the autotune in the saw, i did have trouble with myn cutting out, someone said to me that huky have released a revised version of the 560, you had any other problem? Spudulike the saw comes with a micro proccesor that tunes the saw automaticaly
  23. the 372 is a better saw IMO i have a 372 and have used a 576 a bit and found that even though the 576 has more power it just feels so much more cumbersome to the 372, ive never really used stihl so couldnt comment.
  24. Looks good but not the one ive seen, it had four different counters and went on your belt
