  1. anybody know where you can get a counter from so you can record how many stakes strainers chip and sawlogs you do througout the day, i saw a cutter with one once and looked quite handy! Cheers stu

  3. Tree source bookshop online sell them either the field guide version which is laminated or the more indepth version

  5. After having a new chip put in it and having problems again i took it back and now there saying the setting might be wrong on it!! do they actually know whats causing the problems or just having random guesses, is anybody not having problems?
  6. Took myn back after having problems with it, they put a new chip in it and still cutting out so gunna take it back again, something is defenitly wrong there!!!

  9. Try starting it once warm, bit of a nightmare, most disapointing part is when it cuts out in large timber
  10. Bought one and i loved it, now im not to sure took it back already cause it was cutting out under load they put a new chip on it seems to be ok, but wat a b**ch to start!!!!! Wen warm

I bought one and i love it, its nice and light, and eats wood!!! all the lads i work with have bought on. husqvarna have even given it a two year warranty because there that confident about how good it is as long as you use husky xp. apparently theyve been out in sweden for a year so hopefuly any problems would have been sorted out
  13. wow seven arnt workin properly, i had a ago for a day on one and they were brilliant so powerful and light untill it started to cut out when i was crosscutting large diameter timber, makes you wonder if its too hi-tech for its own good, its annoying casue i need to buy a new saw and im wondering wether to stick with the 357?

  16. I wish i was getting £11.50 a tonne! Im on £9 a tonne on the site im on atm probaly 70%birch and the rest small oak and thats self select aswell which i think slows you down especially me as this is the first site ive self selcted on. Brush cutter- are you doing that course they had in the forestral journal, the college course in sweden i think that was all forwading and harvesting?

  18. umm mostly hardwood atm but the contractors taken on alot of softwood aswell
  19. cheers for the links mate ill have a look, yh im not to keen on stihl prefer huskys really, i had a go on the 576 and really liked it but i havnt on the 372 so was just trying to get peoples opinions?
  20. Im thinking about getting a bigger saw, but deciding between the husqvarna 372xp or the 576xp which ones the better one? power, money etc
  21. seems like a complicated formula lol its hard to get your head around, do you have to use the mensuration book all the time to work out volume and can you do hard wood with it? i found the best bit of info was the chart that gave different weights for different species when freshly cut.
  22. I got the field guide, still complicated lol but im understanding it, how do you work out how much m3 you do in a day or is it just a random guess cause the way the contractor i work for does it is by weight
  23. Thanks for the info! i saw you can buy mensuration a hand book for practitioners from the FC but i wasnt sure it would have what i wanted in it but now i know ill get a copy:001_smile: i know where to come if i have questions lol youve got alot of knowledge brushcutter
  24. I basically wanted to know if anybody knew of any general books that had different measurments and conversions of timber wet and dry with different species with measurments like hoppus ft and m3 etc?
