check your air filter, can cause overheating if blocked, usually get black smoke aswell thou, viscous fan or blocked rad is my thoughts, had same prob on an 1823 merc last week, rad test showed good flow, rad capacity was down by 5 litres thou, ended up with a new radiator, good luck

looking for some of your thoughts again!! i took an order today from a small local hotel, they will require approx 1 cubic metre a week, very local to my yard so easy on fuel/time delivering, i feel i should offer them a SMALL discount if they do continue to order my wood, do any of you guys an girls do the same??

hmmm, good point mrs/mr log baron!! i was going to point out that maybe an extra weeetabix in the morning could give baz some extra axe swinging strength, therefore increasing his 'yield'

even better, use a drum that has had diesel in it, search for blackcurrant cordial on the big auction site, u know what im thinking!!!!, we did it, laughed for days, then had some tyres slashed!!!! tyres are cheaper than injection pumps!!!!!!!!!!!

connick tree care use a lorry they have converted, was working around east-surrey last week, west sussex c.c have a double decker! they both use stop/go boards

my mistake, department for transport, not vosa! even if you get a testing exempion the vehicle still needs to be maintained to an mot standard, can you imagine the roadside check when vosa, (who enforce the rules) look over the vehicle?? that would make their day putting a pg9 on a test exempt vehicle, the fuel is down to customs & excise, end of the day one man against many local authorities isnt going to stand much of a chance, the only group i know who do successfully bend the rules is the showmans guild, fair play to them:thumbup1:

i dont know how far it has got but vosa was re-writing the rules on testing exemptions, i thinks it's a very big 'grey' area still, am intrigued to hear peoples thoughts thou

i dont think it would ever pay to split the oak as you went, i bought a quantity of mainly oak so was easyish to keep apart from the rest, early days yet, its only just started getting cold!!!!!!

i had a ring round the regulars today, to see what they felt about it, surprising results, my more elderly customers ( who have probably been around open fires/ log burners all their lives ) all showed some interest in the 'all oak' the more fashionable clients who use a fire for effect rather than heating wern't interested in the slightest, a small bit of time spent on the phone has payed off thou, 2 separate orders for oak going out tom morning, at a higher price, time will tell if we get any repeat orders! thanks for all your replys

the problem is that green oak is very heavy compared to other hardwood, therefore it needs to be more money once processeed!!

am i being unreasonable in asking more money for purely oak logs as opposed to my mixed hardwood? i was thinking of £15 per cubic metre more? any thoughts ladies an gentlemen?

make sure that before the new pin goes fully home you grind any burr off the last inch or so of the new pin, dont freeze the pin, when frozen metal makes contact with cherry red metal, only one thing happens,, big headaches!!

nah, perfectly safe!! doing things like that with worn out tracks/sprockets/machines, or only one track is far more daunting!!! its not often i put the seatbelt on in a 360, it has been known thou!!

i think you can buy plans for that on u.s. fleabay, in fairness, if i was ' of that build ' i wouldnt be swinging an axe much !!!!! nice home built jobbie thou!
