  2. eek! no thanks! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_NEAEGeFIw]Helicopter Transfering Lineman to Wire - YouTube[/ame]
  3. I know what you mean Andy, the last company I was with had 2 schliesings - an mx220 tracked and a 10" turntable (forgotten model number) Got to be the best chippers ever. Luckily the company i'm with have jensens - i couldn't face going back to tw/entec!
  4. Having used both I wouldn't even consider the timberwolf. I'd rather have a 10 yr old schliesing than a 1 year old tw
  5. great idea
  6. My housemate just picked up 5 litres of thatchers traditional jon - i wont be refuelling after a few pints of that though
  7. Cheers paul - and the second part is something i wondered about the other day. Guess i'm going to have to buy some new shiney things:001_rolleyes:
  8. Yeh, especially when you forget to put the bloody cap back on!!
  9. http://www.facebook.com/JimllPaintIt Bloody brilliant
  10. I'm rocking the DdRSWTRPWDRTSRT technique. Using a rope wrench with a zigzag, unicender, lockjack and a prussic underneath. Seriously though, I have a wrench/stiff tether/pantin/slings+krabs for redirects - what would you recommend for my next purchase? I thought about a hand ascender, but is it just an unnecessary luxury?
  11. Nice. Although the thought of clearing all that epi off the stem isn't very nice!
  12. Thanks guys
  13. If money isn't an issue, go for it. Otherwise, don't worry about them right now. If a company requires you to have any of them , they will more than likely put you through the tickets themselves, saving you the money. Basic tickets, a driving licence and common sense are the only things you need initially.
  14. I better not show my girlfriend that post Paul Especially not after buying a zigzag! Seriously though, well done. It's reminded me that when i get into your situation again (first month without money problems), I'd better go get her something nice edit: no one has mentioned how beautiful Mrs Fox is, well... she is! Nice one!
  15. Not sure, I'm very new to this.
  16. It's £7 or 8 a metre round here.
  17. My current pair of stretch air's have just past 3 years - no holes or tears at all in the outer fabric. The black knee/ankle fabric went a few months ago but doesn't really matter. That's full time climbing and other tree work.
  18. Thread of the year
  19. Hi Jon, loving it mate. Beautiful place and great people. Sorry I haven't been over to see you, very busy and no spare cash at the moment. Soon though!
  20. No cant say i did mate.
  21. First impressions Chucked the throwline pretty much to the top of the 50-60ft beech, no need to isolate a branch - woohoo! Got to the top very quickly without being too knackered. Played about with redirects for a little bit - amazing! Took a little to get used to, but I can see it being a very useful system for medium to large trees, especially reductions.
  22. Cheers, It's in Redhill North Somerset, run by The Wrington and Burrington Hedging Society
  23. I've been learning this great craft for the last few Saturdays, taught by some veterans and a national champion. North Dorset style. I've been told i'm entering a competition (beginners class) on 13th March so I'll update how I do afterwards. Cheers
  24. I don't get this at all....and i love stupid stuff!
