What a fish! I missed your post asking for a meet up,pm me if you still need to mate.
  6. He sure looks happy! Not a bad effort, but mine still has the edge I think! I got my mutt cleaned up,he is now relaxing in his usual manner... img043 by geoff321, on Flickr
  7. Right, his name (as Felix knows) is Billy the Sh*t,the dog has a lot of character,& is a bit 'off centre' sometimes. The pics were not contrived,he must have laid down behind me,I was cutting with the saw clamped on the bench. He is, loosely, a long haired Jack Russel at 13 years old.
  8. They can have an individual TPO on them, unusual but they can,if they have you are likely to find out, check everything,I have just priced up a elder take down with its very own TPO!
  9. Did some much needed kit service today, then cut up some alder from a few removal jobs of dead trees along the canal bank, the dog likes to be with me,but going to sleep behind the saw bench with a 346 on full chat for an hour is plain daft,he got up,took his pleasure up a plumb tree,And resumed his slumber, here is the result! Can ya better it? IMG_1457 by geoff321, on Flickr IMG_1464 by geoff321, on Flickr After this I had to go price up the removal of an elder,(me thinking here we go,15 miles to price that up!),well this elder has a tpo on it,but is about to pop its clogs,I have not seen one like it in my life,I will have to climb it,but thats ok with 3 stems at about 300mm dbh,& it must be replaced,I am doing it Friday,& will get some pics,I did sugest to the client that rather than grind a big stump,I could coppice it!
  10. Take the advice,wish I had,blew mine out in 2 weeks,I was back at work after a week & made a mistake, slipped & bang,it tore.

    Dremel ?

I have one of these, very good tool.
  12. If you use steel tube for your bollard, weld a cap top & bottom, drill a hole & tap a thread, fill with diesel or central heating fluid, then cap the threaded hole, these are not gas axe friendly.
  13. Pleased you didnt loose your kit Dean, time to step up the security once they know its there.
  14. Congratulations to you all!
  15. Yep! & nothing short of it.
  16. By the way Olly, welcome to the forum,& hang around, you might find you enjoy it,& there is always lively debate, good info on questions asked,& of coarse you can pile in with words of wisdom yourself.
  17. They might give you dispensation if you stipulated thatyou were going to use it to liven up your groundy though..
  18. I totaly agree with you,as I'm sure we all do.
  19. My personal perspective on this would be not to worry about the shrubs in the front patch by the drive, but I would be disgruntled by the boundry & tree removal, especialy without being consulted. If I was selling I would probably aim for a days work & a couple of hundred quid to re plant some small shrubs & flowers to brighten it up. If I was keeping the property,my previous post would stand. Thats just my view on things.
  20. To me that doesn't sound unreasonable, they should have consulted you before cutting,so they are to a great extent at your mercy.
  21. That is the tars condensating out onto the cold chimney, get it lined & insulated & you should be ok.
  22. You will struggle to get like for like, this tree,(Prunus I think),is well established in its location,a wild stab at a cost to get a good sized replacement in,old stump ground etc...£800?
  23. Thanks Woodworks, Certainly a new sound,I like them!
