  1. Dont get peed off with people giving you sarcastic answers mate- in my opinion you have got some real cheek asking other people to price your work for you, especially when its a p1ss easy job like you have described, and described poorly at that! TBH it really pee's me off when this happens. Learn the hard way like the rest of us. You know what you need to survive on (rent, bills etc) how much your insurance, wages and kit are going to cost you, so work it out from there istead of asking (IMO) out of order questions on here and getting the hump when people are a bit sarcastic. Sorry if that offends, but there you are.
  2. IMO Jim you could look at it from another angle.........highlight the beauty of the different woods- the contrast can be a good thing. Maybe use a VERY different wood? I found this guy incredibly inspirational.
  3. Is it the edges or the top surfaces you want flat? If it is the two meeting edges (which i think it is) that you require straightening then its a surface planer you need, not a thicknesser. It should only take 1/4 hour or so to do this. When you have jointed the timber you can then finish the surface. If you use a hand or electric hand plane then you can fill any remaining gaps with a mixture of glue and sawdust made from the timber itself from sanding it. You can get away with using Woodglue (PVA) but there are also proprietry glues available for this purpose. When dry and sanded you it is almost imperceptable.
  4. Take them to a joinery shop, offer them a small fee and get them to put them on the surface planer. Buy a biscuit jointer for about £35 and some biscuis, job done to perfection.
  5. Over breeding, esp with inexperienced and basically greedy breeders, who will breed to early from a pup. Cherry eye is just another problem trait with pikinese type dogs. (the King Charles is a mongrel breed originally)
  6. Hyenas..........and barbary apes in the back ground:lol: Those hyenas have the strongest bite there is, and barbary apes are among the most vicious animals in Africa apparently, with the strength to rip limb off with ease....or so i am told!
  7. Its just in breeding over the years.....king charles spaniels which have serious eye popping out problems, shi-tsus, boxers and pugs with breathing problems from deformed noses etc etc etc. Hybrid vigour is looked for in most areas of animal and plant breeding, but it seems that in the dog world for some bizarre reason pedigrees are seen as something better. That is fair enough in the world of crufts and breeding for breed's sake, but seems to make little sense otherwise.
  8. And 9 times out of ten a better dog than a pedigree IMO.
  9. Yeah totally lorry. Farm collies can be little barstewards. I know a few like that!
  10. What about this then....
  11. Brilliant....and they are prone to biting too:thumbup1:
  12. Yep- but its alot of well bred dog. £700 worth of hybrid vigour too:thumbup1:
  13. Thats why you teach your dog not to take food from anyone but you, and also why artic' lorries are parked with the rear doors open in lay-bys at night.
  14. There are some bull mastiff x rottweiler pups for sale down here....the dad is 13 stone. Chain one of them up in or outside your lock up and they sods will think twice....£700 each if you are interested.
  15. I know of a load of 20 year old climbing line that is being used to great effect strung between some posts at the edge of some decking. It is very faded and a bit green in places, but looks fine.......is it EVER beyond use?
  16. Well krabs are ali, so can go in the scrap pile when TOTALLY knackered- i have 2 old ones ending their days as dog lead clips at the mo, and when they seize up or fall apart totally will go in the ali pile, and ropes that fail loler are still good for pulling, tying down and a million other uses that dont involve PPE!!
  17. Do you want mud or all terrain? Try any branch of Protyre, Southam tyres in warwickshire, or WA Allen and sons in Cornwall. All good BFG dealers, esp the last of them. The generals, although good, are a bit of a distant second on longevity TBH.
  18. How bad a leak is it? If its just a little drip under the vehicle then leave it go ubtil its a problem- at least you will be topping up with nice fresh oil fairly regularly.
  19. My Late Uncle Charles was a very good friend of Prince Charles, being implicit in setting up the Princes trust organisation, and I can only report that they are down to earth decent people through and through, with genuine concerns for the welfare of the nation and humanity.
  20. And promote and set up a plethora of charitable and business start up organisaztions, aswell as patronising/ promoting and leading many worldwide humanitarian achievements, which without their backing would be nothing.
