  1. :scared1::scared1:And look at the trouble the yanks are in with guns. Bunch of geese is a good one.
  2. I sell most of my wood to 'carver si' instead of turning it into firewood! He reckons that for mushrooms then pretty much any softwood is best, and LOVES larch. Sequioa makes excellent bears- the colour is good. Ash he wont touch. For the sculptures of animals Macrocarpa, sycamore if it hasnt split, Yew, oak, walnut, beech..........
  3. Nah- but if i turned up on a job in this part of the world i think nost customers would tell me where to go, or justify my price, as in their view i was obviously charging far too much if i could afford to waste money on that. I think Mr Ed had it right- most would see 'wanker' whatever was written. Go the other side of the tamar and its probably different.
  4. Stevie- sorry you didnt win...................But so glad i did. The cheque for the kit is in the post........
  5. Link does not seem to work mate?
  6. I think i have just realised where i have been going wrong all these years. I could never actually work out how to use the damn thing, so just had it hanging on my harness to look good. Thats why its so clean...Thanks Frank.
  7. That is stunning mate. The way the light is reflected off it.... what can i say?
  8. Nice one. Its got to be cheaper than anything with stihl or oregon etc written on it!
  9. Yeah but the stuff has to be running onto the blade when its cutting...
  10. Yeah a few have suggested that, but aside from the reasons you said, does it not stain the timber if pale?
  11. Is cornwall the only place where the weather was excellent today? Wind=good!
  12. Hi evryone. Do any of you know of a product or substance that may be suitable to use as/with blade lube on a bandsaw. Usually water is all that is needed, in varying amounts dependant on timber being milled, but was milling a piece of scots pine yesterdy and it was so resinous that the blade was becoming coated in no time and the teeth clogged and blunted.:scared1:I have seen products in aerosols but never paid much attention to them due to the quantity i would require. Any ideas? Ta.
  13. Furry muff. Sorry, i mean fair enough. I was just guessing from the pictures Anna posted in her original post!?!?
  14. Mate you know as well as i do that this is going to take a lot more than a good degreasing.
  15. Never mind 'having the chance to' i'm off to buy a pair- gotta see this!!
  16. Nah- learn to love the 8 legged freaks.............................NOT.
  17. I have just looked at your original post and answered my own question:blushing:
  18. Tax on the foolish stevie. If i won i would pay off my debts, then buy a pint with the remainder.LOL
  19. Quite agree- owner operator. Have you looked at Rayco?
  20. I reckon tension could be the key- if it is smoking then there is a chance the saw is oiling, and the heat generated by overtight chain is causing the oil to burn. However, the old ms170 and ms180 were terrible for oiler problems- maybe they haven't sorted it out on the 181, and it isnt oiling. Get the saw down to your local dealer, and get yourself on a basic two day chainsaw course- that wil cover maintainence of the saw, and should be sub £200 for a 2 day course.
  21. Great pics, TOP tolkien reference!
  22. Nice one- esp like pics 1 and 3!
  23. Brown rot.....thats seriously technical stuff. I'm not sure whether i understand it- does it mean rot..... that is...brown?
