  1. Damn - you got there first! Well done!
  2. What happened to that massive bit on the right hand side?
  3. A gold plated one??? Do they really go for that?? Sorry, never had one.
  4. No apology needed here mate- thanks for getting it to my attention- really interesting to look at the pdf which i wouldnt have seen otherwise. Your beech looks fantastic.
  5. if when you have your arm as you described Does it hurt like hell on the outside of your tricep at the level of your lbow, and does it hurt when you are gripping a saw etc? That sounds like tennis elbow. It is caused by the tendon that attaches the muscle in your forearm- which controls your hand- becoming minutely torn from the bone. Every time it is exposed to stress- gripping the saw, using a hammer- the muscle is torn a tiny bit more from the bone. There is an excersise you can do by crossing your arms, whilst they are straight out in front of you, and put your palms together linking fingers- its a bit of a twist, and clenching your fingers. Do it a few times and re-cross your arms the other one on top and do it again. Doctor Tommer.
  6. Tennis elbow is a bugger mate. I got it really bad- a bit like you by the sound of it- to the point that i couldnt even bend my fingers. My physio and one who keeps her horse here both told me to rest for six weeks which was obviously not an option, and i kept taking painkillers and ended up i had to take time off. Get a strap around your forearm- Vulcan brand ones witha stiff plastic band built into them are very good, and wear it all the time you are using that arm. It makes the forearm muscles contract latitudinally, along the length of your arm as opposed to laterally- swelling the forearm as it were, hence almost pushing the muscle back onto the point where it joins the radius bone. Its probably worth seeeing a doc or physio to get a really good arm support. But then i may be telling you stuff you already know!
  7. Thanks for the heads up- very annoying but having said that i was told in november that the yearly price hike was going to be big in Jan 09, and then in early jan was told to replace my 48" bar soon as the increase was due to be 40% due to weak pound, so really i reckon we have got off lightly. Mind you, i'm not in the market for expensive new toys at the mo' so it isn't such a blow as it could be......
  8. Spoke to Anna- she says that she was fully aware that it had been auctioned, and that she had let it go cheap at quite a high price and had given it away, as it was cluttering up the place and leaving stains all over her horse's meadow, so was glad to see the back of it. No accounting for taste. I didnt see this on ebay: , and this one wasn't in a private listing either:- . Thought about both of them for a while, but decided against it after having spoken to a well known. May regret the decision, but its better to regret something you have done than something you haven't.
  9. Saw P1LLS at a party in the 90's. Not sure what the owner meant by it though?
  10. They're beautiful mate. Looks like the sun finally showed its face for a bit at last too.
  11. Will do. Shame about the auction. Cheers for the number.
  12. Steve, I in no way want to insult your eyesight, but are you absoloutely sure it was Anna's. I mean £1750? Maybe it was stolen off her and sold without her knowing:scared1:. Has anyone asked her? I'm sure she must have had some inkling of its true worth? In the pic below I have played with the focus and hue of a photo i took of Anna's last month for posterity, maybe it is clear enough for you to compare. Anyway- if it went for that why didn't you snap it up? Note the colour on the wing! Quite distinctive. Any use?
  13. Nice one! Been looking for that for ages.
  14. What about some sort of flexi thing (pencil diameter ) hanging down off the top of the chute which when triggered will actuate a govenor. When i was a young'un i worked on potato harvester machines, and on the scales for bagging up the spuds the actuator was stiff but flexible nylon rod that operated a pneumatic/electric switch. Stood up to a LOT of vibration. Could the brash going in operate this 'lever' and send signal to engine? Sorry- i am not much of an engineer- hence i can visualise it but not really explain it!
  15. I've told you before- no hat, no boots, no job. Get up and get out.
  16. Careful Andy, it will go to his head.
  17. Well done janey. Great feeling Huh?! Just had first real bit come in after just two weeks, and i know you've been without for a while. Nice.
  18. Ta. Just looked at the site. They seem to make them for the riot police so i wont be having anything whatsoever to do with them.
