  1. In the first of those last two pics, why is that guy sitting in the in-feed hopper on that chipper?
  2. Sounds very good to me- A-plant quoted me 180/day for a 7? inch TW, and another compeny do them at 150/day near me!
  3. :sneaky2:Im sure they will be very flattered:scared1:
  4. Dont you listen to any of them. They dont live in the far west like we do mate. Put a 5 tonne hiab on it and weld some channel to the chassis to strengthen it. Get a set of old lorry springs and weld them on, and a few coilers just to make sure, and find the biggest log you can, then fly up to fraddon with a huge two fingered salute to those w ankers who hang around in dayglow yellow jackets and if any of them give you any rudeness start swinging the timber grab around their heads.:001_tongue:

Haix prot.pros every time. Comfy and hard as hell.
  7. Luvverly saaws. Jon- massive leak in the mains in the yard today, so have a wheeled digger in (jcb) to replace pipe, and have been getting max use out of it while i have it on hire- clearing ditches, building water jumps etc, so havent had a moment to think about Newton Ferrers. Ill put my mind to it tomorrow without fail. Sorry, found an open bottle of port just now and have leathered that with missus so sense is not something to expect out of me tonight. Sorry.
  8. Hehe- exactly what i thought when i actually got them! Still, i havent a clue what im doing so i just shut my eyes most of the time and hope for the best.:001_tongue:
  9. Sweeeet. I want to make a carrier for rakes etc between the rails of the tipper floor, with the numberplate on a strong metal fold down plate to act as the rear 'door'.
  10. Dont you just love the commentary- they are showing them felling softwood, yet the commenator is bangingon about how your man will be felling hardwood for 100yrs!LOL
  11. Ditto. As for lack of space Dean, have you thought about a cab roofrack, mine is invaluable when chip box is loaded. Also, given that you have a 130 do you not have space between the rear wheels and the cab, or is your tipper pump there. I have seen a few with army surplus long ammo boxes bolted in there, which hold a fair bit of kit. Or get your welder out and custom build one. I only have a 110 so there isnt quite the room.
  12. You can buy on line, but the first purchase must be over the counter. When the dealer knows you i think its ok. No doubt i will be corrected...
  13. Beech must be the worst kind of sawdust, especially spalted. The two hospital visits due to dust were both from beech.
  14. After watching it for the third time, i had to agree that luck played a part. I think that the twist toward the fence was the weight of that timber at the top, i reckon without that it would have come down straighter. I stand corrected.
  15. :sneaky2:Well spotted. Like you say, there is a swing towards the fence as the tension goes from the pull-line. and a very close finish... Judged to be lucky..
  16. Ok now i need to watch it AGAIN:001_tongue:
  17. I still maintain judgement. The fence is not running truly parallel to the line from the camera to the tree, and good judgement with a pull rope (vehicle winch), although i still reckon it would have fell where it did without the aid of the winch. That gob looked quite well angled. It certainly wouldnt want to be any further round towards the fence tho!
  18. You doubting thomas's!!! I am now going to watch it on youtube with a bigger picture.
  19. Niceley judged hinge i reckon. Well done.
  20. Heres some more details... Mean Machines at TVGuide.co.uk UK TV Listings Guide Looks good.
  21. I think that unless you never go off road and are prepared to have a big fuel bill, dont get a transit. If you are going for one, get as powerful as you can, and a stack of spare clutches. I was shocked at the amount of diesel the one i drove the other day used- standard 125 van, not particularly loaded, and I am used to the MPG of a landy!
