  1. Just got me a stein kask, to replace my vertex vent. Ok i got the luvverly goggles, mainly for when i am milling, but the helmet pisses all over the vertex for weight and especially comfort. My only complaint is sweat dripping on the visor.

Nice. My mothers family are from Heswall (if you mean cheshire that is!)
  3. Hope you enjoy it, my trek and the one my mate had were the best bikes i ever rode- lovely frame, well put together bikes. Didnt have a car for years.
  4. Thats disgusting, and ill thank you not to post any more of your filth on this forum.
  5. :congrats:Thats what i was thinking. Get a francguard (or whatever the spelling is) or similar. They are very veersatile for that sort of operation. Does the N-H have a loader on? If the logs are small then you could even winch a load out, then grab a load on the loader as you want them, and the winch would also give a bit of rear weught in the bargain! Old silage shear grab with the sides cut out makes an excellent timber grab, and even a quicke loader on a 110 hp tractor will lift 2tonne at the headstock. 2 ton is a fair log or bundle of logs.

BTW, i spoke to your boss today....nice bloke. I was in taunton, but you didnt have your phone on. I was in the car and ws going to look at that log, but what ill do is come back up on friday with the landrover - my son is at my sisters for the week- and grab the log then if that is convenient. What time is best for you?

Hehe- i wasnt offended guys, but thanks for the concern (LOL) I knew stevie would eclipse it anyway. It was just nice to have a tenner handed to me when i thought there was nobody there and i was doing a mate a favour!

What is the easiest money you have ever made? I just got in my landy, drove 500yds up the road, made one cut with my 361 to get rid of a small Leylandii stump, having said i would just nip in and do it, and the owner (i had dealt with his neighbour, my mate) came out and gave me a tenner, and wouldnt even let me sweep up the handful of sawdust. Back home in less than 15 mins! Result!
  12. Yeah, cider and nasty i reckon- those things wont do your insides much good!
  13. I know the place. Good cider.
  14. Where do you stay when you come down? Did you camp for KOD?
  15. I think i should force all the grumpy little teenage liveries we have to listen to that incessantly.........Clockwork Orange stylee.
  16. Hey adam, just had a look at your dirt bike. Nice. Do you ever come down to The Track at portreath? If not check out the website- UK's no1 dirt track. My place looks right into it.
  17. The famous "GT triple Triangle".......
  18. He he- giant and gt are one and the same!
  19. Fair point. I dont think that an older frame is necessarily a problem mind, aspecially if it was a good one to start with.
  20. There used to be a massive Radiata in penzance...... :001_tongue:
  21. Giant are one of the biggest manufacturers of bikes, they make the excellent Giant, GT and i think they make some trek frames, but am not sure. Thay have also had ties with scott, another excellent make. S-ram is ok as far as i understand.
  22. Hers the sort of thing i reckon is suitableTrek 6700 SLR Mountain Bike (Hardtail) on eBay (end time 27-Jul-09 19:46:31 BST) Really good bikes.
  23. If you want a bike for fitness , dont go for a full sus anyway, esp at that price, as you will find that there is a large loss of effort when pedalling, alot of your effort will be lost in the Full sus bikes are for two things- hardcore downhill riding, or posing round the estate IMO. A good hard tail will give you far more fitness, longevity and enjoyment from the flexibility of use it offers. To get a decent full sus which you really can lock out the rear springs you really need to spend a boat load of money on a well maintained bike.
  24. I think that for kids bikes they are actually ok, esp if you set it up yourself. It is a different matter when adults get on the bikes and expect to do what the huge pics in the store portray. Dean, Jon is right- go for a good frame, as that will last years, and you can keep replacing the bits that are bolted on. Steel frames are very good, and can be as light as ali (almost) but are not as stiff as Ali frames, which transfer all the power without much flex down to the wheels, but be aware of the condition of the bottom bracket and where it sits in the frame on ali bikes, as they can become ovalised very easily which= knackered frame. Look for one with a replaceable derailleur hanger too. Or just go for a high quality steel frame. It is probably woth finding the biggest most commercial bike shop in your area and going and sitting on a load of bikes, as the geometry of every makers frames is different- the top tube (the horizontal one between your legs when sitting on the bike ) varies in length quite considerably. This way you will have an idea of which bike you want to look for on ebay.
  25. I dont know if that was meant tongue in cheek, but NEVER EVER EVER EVER BUY A BIKE FROM HALFORDS. They shouldn't be allowed anywhere near pushbikes. They dont know the first thing about what constitutes safe setting up of a bike, decent parts or aftersales service. I was i a local specia;ist bike shop last summer when a guy came in to have his Halfords Apollo mountain bike serviced, and the morons at halfords had put the forks on the wrong way round, rendering the bike very dangerous. My wifes friend bought her son a bike from them and the frame snapped when he was riding the Camel Trail (a former railway line now used for cycling/walking, dead flat and well maintained) and they wouldnt honour the warranty....after 2 weeks.
