yeah that is an idea i will look into , the good thing is i have already taken the tipper off soi can pretty muct mount it wherever , i may well mount it to the rear and load a trailer as well

yeah i have a cabstar , i have seen a couple hiabs that would do it , they range from 225-500 kg well i thinl i will have a look at it on paper and see if its worth it , if i can still carry a ton or ton and a bit then i think i will , without the flat bed i think i should save i bit of weight

whan we need one i get a 16 ton timber waggon in . the idea of the cab star was not for massive jobs but the medium size jobs where i would rather get the timber out in slighly longer lengths rather than cutting them up

i was looking at hte weight of the truck and without the tiper the truck is actually verry light , i dont want a hiab that will lift 20 tons , just smething to lift 3/4- 1 ton , the frame to load timber in would not weigh too much either , i was looking at those fast tow trailers with hiabs when i came up with the daft idea

strait onto the chasis mate , i did sketch some ides out on the tin wall of the work shop with a turnip but the groundy has the pictures sorry lol

hi guys , i curently have a spare nisan cabstar , whilst at work today i came up with the idea of taking the flat bad off and turning the truck into a mini timber truck , so i thought i would ask all of you if you have any ideas for the hiab , layout for carring timber etc etc , to be honst its going to be a bit of a creation but i thought it would be great for those jobs i cant get a timber truck too

go for it mate , see it as an adventure and enjoy it . i was earning 205 a week and was being taken the p**s out so i started out as a jobbing climber i was only charging 80 a day and was supling everything exept a chipper eventually i started taking on my own work , now i have my own busines and have never looked back , yes i had some quiet times but who doesnt , its better than having a boss lay you off . if i were you a would go with my heart and engoy it !!! either way good luck mate

however when i got my transit tipper brand new 12 months ago it came strait to me with factory fitted tipper and tow hitch with no tacho , further to this how is any commercial 3.5 ton tipper allowed to be fitted with a tow hitch if there is no tacho fitted ?? im not having a go at any one on here by the way . i was made aware about the stop and start rule , ie if you are only driving the vehicle and trailer to site where you will be working for the rest of the workind day then there is no need for a tacho ! i personally think the manufacturer of the vehicle or the fitter of the tow hitch should be held accountable to a certian extent , also how does this aply to hire vehicles ??

i think this is the biggest problem with the industry at the moment , down here i have noticed a sizable increase in the ammount of tre surgery compnies down round me , the problem is not the ammount tho! the problem comes when a select few start pricing work at a silly price (i have heard of half day qoutes for two men being as low as £80) which means that when a well established firm goes to quote the same job they charge an ammount that will just cover there overheads they are seen as too expensive what really takes the p**s is that most of them do not have qualified staff , the correct insurance of do they actually care what they are doing to the trees (lack of knowledge) i saw one chap advertising that he will give free advice and consultany which worries me when he only has his nptc tickets . i think this is another reason that anyone wishing to opperate a tree surgery company must be liscenced by the goverment . as for the origional question - yes i have found the domestic work has all but gone !
