  1. Go for it. I have two Stihl combi's, but have had nothing but trouble from the KM130R, its been back to the dealer several times and finally went back to stihl for a full strip down and rebuild. Its a great tool, but not as reliable as the other Stihl gear we have.
  2. Thats EXACTLY my position! If I build another track car it'll be an MX5, brilliantly balanced cars and loads of fun on the track. Gone a bit off topic
  3. I miss track days! 340bhp+, caged and Very quick! Stripped it to pay for my Ranger I stuck it in the tyre wall at brands hatch...doh! The pic is after I put it back together. Damn starting a business. My last track day I did in my girlfriends MX5 , but as of yesterday I'm single (after 7 years) so no more track days for me. I may have found a rusted out starion, an engine swap may be on the cards for the L200
  4. Its over 'carbed' at the mo, swapping the 38/38 webber for a 32/36 if I can't get it jetted right.
  5. It came with the petrol, but its on its third engine (long story) Could chat cars for hours
  6. I really rate my Ranger, but then it doesn't go off road all that much. The only problem I've had is the LSD has stopped working. Everyone that gets in it comments on how good it is. I chipped it too, it now knocks out 148bhp and 280ftlbs I also have a rusty old L200 which is a bit of a project. 2.0 petrol with a weber carb and msd ignition.
  7. Well if flux, sky and aplan won't insure you then there must be something up? Flux insured me for a modified L200 and all three have insured me on a VERY modified nissan. Any other reason why they are declining?

    Top Gear

Was a good show, but with £5k I'd have bought a Nissan 200sx, fettled it slightly and wiped the floor with them I used to have a 340bhp track toy, sooooo much fun. Sold it and bought a Ranger to lug logs
  9. I like the idea of pro arb pics rather than just examples of trees, but I'll buy at least one either way
  10. Cool pic. We have a few frogs and for the first time a newt I've noticed lots more wildlife in customers gardens this year. Loads of baby frogs and more birds nests than ever before, we've had to cancel a few jobs. I persuaded a customer to leave their pond in because it had a few newts and was teeming with life.
  11. Its not so much the lack of support for me, its the kick in the butt to get studying, but a virtual classroom could help. My local college has just re-listed the technicians cert in arb, but its now block release instead of day release , but if I do manage to clear 6 weeks in our work diary I'll be sitting this course and sitting the ISA exam.
  12. We paid £4600 for a 2001 model last year, but it had hardly been used. Cracking machine, not missed a beat since we bought it.
  13. I bought the study guide as I planned to study for this alongside the technicians cert in arb, but my local college cancelled it last year and are running it in 5 day blocks this year (if they ever decide on some dates) I found the study guide great and have learnt a lot, but I'm rubbish at learning at home. I need a classroom to keep me focused I've got qualifications upto level 4 outside of arb, so I really should get on and take the ISA exam.
  14. Its when you cone off an area and people still walk on under the tree that gets to me. I did some work for my cousin laying some HV cable on a weekend in London, even with the trench fenced off people were still squeezing though and hopping over the trench
  15. So you don't even need to change the pockets? Excellent!
  16. I was after teeth for my husky SG13A, the genuine teeth are £98 for a set of 8
  17. They told me they are out of teeth til the end of July
  18. I left a decent wage in engineering because I hated being stuck behind a desk most days. I took a massive pay cut to get into arb and still with my own business don't earn a great wage, but I love what I do. I'll take a £20k job in arb over a £35k in an office every time. The money is there, but I think you need to be running your own business if you want the decent money IMO, but then you HAVE to get up for less than £50 some days
  19. Anyone fancy doing a little 'how to' sharpen the finger teeth? We've got a SG13 and I have no idea how to sharpen the teeth.
  20. I wouldn't advertise with them after they were rude on the phone to me! The usual pushy salesman
  21. Agree with most 100% go to the police, they will pay him a visit then if he does follow it up he'll be the No1 suspect, I'd also be prosecuting her for the damage and assault! You can't let scum light these get away with it, it makes me so angry. We have a fair bit of trouble round here, had my Ranger keyed sat night, my dirty log filled pickup Good luck with it all
  22. I do a fair bit of weight training, but my diet is pretty poor, worse than yours. I use the shakes and liquid egg whites to get the extra protein I need. Liquid egg whites - Foods | Myprotein If you do order anything from them, stick in my reward code, then we both get a discount MP16906 I eat a lot of tuna and chicken, but I can never bring myself to eat much in the morning, its always just a bowl of cereal, but I train in the evenings. The liquid egg whites are perfect for me, its real food, lots of protein and no fat or carbs. I chuck it in with some milk and its totally tasteless.
  23. My old Sony Ericsson W595 has managed a years tree surgery easily, its a pretty tough phone. Just upgraded to the w995 and I'm pretty sure I'll end up using the W595 before it year and a half is up. The tough phones seem over priced and under spec'd imo. Get a case and a packet of screen protectors whatever phone you go for
  24. Thanks guys. I think i gave him the correct advice then. The trees are very much worth the tpo's in my opinion. It will be interesting what they do in the end, I was just there to give my advice.
  25. I had a customer today asking about pruning roots which are pulling up his driveway. There are several large pine with TPOs alongside the tarmac driveway which have pushed up to the point you need a car with decent ground clearance to access his house. What are the rules when replacing an existing driveway over TPO'd roots? I told him he really needs to raise the level and use a root protection system like cellweb to protect the roots from compaction. He's reluctant to raise the levels. Any ideas?
