  4. i would say no 2,at least they will learn how you want things done ,and good of you to invest your time showing them,but sometimes it must be hard to find the time when lots to be done so can see the benifits of college.

  10. i run a 346xp with a 15 or 13 its great when can bench fell for snedding with a shorter bar but my next saw would be a 357 as got the balls to handle a 18 and less bending my back
  11. yes mate iam about your welcome to pop down ,do you think with it been a late fruiter it can escape degrading from insects, be interesting what ones are found feeding and living on this if any known?

  14. cheers lads it will be interesting to see how long it will hang about i have enjoyed witnessing this fungi with tony and look forward to the work to retain the habitat of this special tree that he has offered to do:thumbup1:,you cant see in the photo but under the hericium is a bees nest and looked like a woodpecker or a squirrel had beentrying to get the honey as fresh bark was missing around the hole.

  19. todays slice for hama ,chestnut coppice ripped down to fell a double stem it had interesting decay goin on,the second slice was of a stem that had its growing tip die the smaller branch in the fork .and a side branch bowed out to take over
  20. will do i always enjoy what i see inside when milling or ripping a big trunk , i look forward to my next bit of decayed wood and i will take a good look:thumbup1:
  21. good thread,good to consider mycorrhizal when planting trees on arable land that has had crops growing on it thats roots dont need them and has had years of fungisides and fertiliser:001_smile:
