  1. looks good mate i found robd's idea of using plug cutters works well to hide the bolts, work out how much time you spent making and milling it depending how far you go plaining it and sanding and adding a finish must be worth at least £200 depending what wood you used:001_smile:
  2. a big thank to everybody for the great replys:thumbup1: ,every thing is going fine and should be home in couple days
  3. today our healthy baby girl hazel arrived weighing 3 kg, my wife had c section at 10.30 this morning,my wife is been kept in the itc ward with baby just to be sure she be ok all seem ok so far so looking good and be back on the normal baby ward for a couple days i just poped home to get some rest and sorting the pets out and going back and in a few hours it the best feeling in the world been having a baby, i feel so lucky and hope to be the best dad i can be:001_smile:
  4. they should be ok mate we have had some trees planted in flooded areas and havent had many problems dont if hole filles up when digging down make sue the water right down when you do it planting depth to root collar,if pit planting i dig square holes as encourages the roots to grow out better than a round hole and add a bit of mycorrhizae,i stake trees mainly one third of the trees height and some times lower or higher depends on how whippy they are:001_smile:
  5. also mate cricket bat willows would be your kind of thing ,or some red alders[ alnus rubra] less chance of them getting phytophthora like our common alder does:001_smile:

  12. :001_smile:a ,climber that work in harmony with the groundys are best but must be good groundys always looking out for eachother and watching climber ,i used to find the climbers that used to get everything down realy quick not giving groundys time making a tangled mess on floor hard to clear up make the job slower,

  14. if it was all about climbing i would give my self a 2 as my heart has always been on the ground wear i work my best always wished i was a good climber but never made it and due to health reasons best i dont, did tree surgery for a for 6 years mainly as a groundy to get in to forestry that i love and the climbing skilsl i did learn has helped me, here is a big reduction i did once sorry for the rubbish photo but onlyone i have did it as wanted the experiance of doing it so i expect some abuse:001_smile:
