  1. fear makes you cut quick , you will do it in 20 mins mate..hang on tight and ignore the huge rip:ohmy:
  2. thing is he wants the tractor now, and he doesnt get it until he pays me...unfortunately for him his quarter is 2 months away..but if he will just have to go skint for a few months, thats what i had to do..but he is a sound guy and will find a way
  3. i have been using bluetooth headsets for nearly 2 years now, the difference in work is unbelievable, work rate goes up, there is no wasted time or frustration..all the little minutes of waiting for folk to turn round or look up or even coming back from the truck saying' i cant find it' soon add up to earning time..my headsets have muffler buttons...so if someone is on the saw for ages you just ask them to hit the button, cancels out their noise. also your phone can go through them aswell, the same button answers it and cancels the other person from hearing you. mine are peltors, they are needing repaired and i havent had a chance to send them away, really miss them. great comunication for climbers and operators, the guy up the tree can see everything before it happens, whether its a wee old lady coming round with a cupa and there is a branch on her greenhouse you can just tell them to hurry up or keep her busy, or the crazy dog walker that has pushed the signs out the way and crepty under the tika tape. a must for any team
  4. i got one the minute i went vat reg, i thought it was standard, but i was claiming about 8k worth of vat assets back straight away, but they were great..just handed them my accounts and receipts..the wee ones they didnt even bother about ie. saws and stuff, it was just previous vans and jeep and chipper. but they found stuff i had missed and put the money straight into my bank
  5. cool, but the last time i had a vat inspection they gave me another 1100quid..she was a lovely lady:001_cool:
  6. good boy, that is a stem though:sneaky2:looks like you are coming in a bit low on the other side due to your poor work position:001_tt1:have you ever had the saw go over on you and get taken away with the limb, happened to me on a big ash once when i first started, luckily i learnt, with the saw unclipped, or i would of been goosed. i wasnt commited and was going at it cautiously so went over slowly then took the saw right out my hand:scared1:saw was ok though:001_smile:i love big oaks, smells great
  7. i put little gubs in for big oak limbs john, there is a lot of pressure on those big heavy limbs..need a lot of power and much sharpness, oh and a white and orange saw:001_tongue:

  13. keep peeling those oranges and you will go blind
  14. hi guys i have just sold my valmet, there is a lot of vat money involved so the buyer is looking to defer the vat. i managed this when i bought some kit through a finance company, they gave me a vat receipt with the total on it, i claimed it back first and they took it off me by my 3rd payment, it kept my cash flow...can this be done on a private sale??i havent contacted the customs yet, but the buyer is looking into it, i just wondered if you guys had any experience on this...all advice welcome:001_smile:
  15. hi woody, stevie here(swb) i sent you a message in classifieds, but i never check that so i dont know if you do. i was wanting 35k for the mog, she needs tyres, they are really worn, the back arent as bad as the front. still good for a few miles yet though..i am about to put a new set on, they are about 2800, so that will go on the price, the tp hasnt done much but has the usual wear and tear. needs a seal for one of the rollers, which will be getting ordered asap..i need more than 35k, i was aiming for 40k for the 2, but i am open to negotiation..i have just sold my roofmount so if i could sell the mog it would let me progress to some new toys quicker than planned..if you are serious then call me, i have had a lot of tyre kickers and time wasters, but if you are serious and have a cheque book come and see me next week if you want a good deal.. stevie

  16. sounds like a bit of concusion, i got a big chunk of birch come out the back of the chipper and caught me straight on the right eye socket, i had just got it, couldnt wait to use it and didnt want my annoying groundy at the time to put the first bit of wood through it, so i didnt bother with my helmet, what an idiot. had to sit down for about 20 mins, sore as hell. take some arnaca and ibuprofen to reduce any swelling and go and see the doctor mate
