  1. defo on that one andy, but make sure you get that in writing before you kick a ball tom. i have spent a lot of work on these things before then someone else gets the work or nothing happens. because i never sorted out the deal straight away.
  2. if you still want the work tom get on the approved contractors list first, because if they decide to do it they will use someone who is. let this guy worry about it mate, give him your price and walk away, you are now being his free contract/grant funding dogs body. has he given you the job if you help with funding?
  3. i would give the elm to rob d, drop an oak and get him to mill that for you to make to your summerhouse mate
  4. chain break!is that huck in casual combats:lol:
  5. my concern isnt the wage or how comfortable this cushy wee job would be, its the fact that someone who has so little experience is allowed to teach. and the fact that colleges are disillusioning folk that this is a glamerous industry and so easy to walk into is a joke, you guys have a responsibility, dont turn around and make out we are so negative and critical, you are only after numbers to keep yourself in a job. its us that have to deal with these kids when they leave your place with their stein hat and first aid kit looking for a tenner an hour and half of then you wouldnt trust with a rake. you guys are used to talking to kids with a dream, is it fair to let someone who will never be able to do our job, build up there hopes and dreams of doing it. i know lads that have chucked good jobs to go to college, get into debt and leave with only bits of paper then join the dole queue, if you want i will start another thread about it, i wouldnt be the first. you have stuck your toe in the water of the real world on here and you dont like it.
  6. you are right rupe, i am only messing. the money that we have to spend to remove arisings is a nightmare. i wonder if i am just as well hiring a big skip every time i do a job and get the customer to pay for it direct. i could go to work in amy small van with some aws and climbing kit
  7. i have been very supportive of your polished turd for too long rupe, it looks like a butchers van with no back door. quite fitting really:001_tt2:
  8. do you know anyone selling one johnty:sneaky2:
  9. 2 hours with me and you will be wishing it had an ejector seat:w00t:
  10. they arent red or nearly gay enough mark. i was actually hoping they came in violet. the boots are awesome, you need a pair asap:thumbup:
  11. jcb all the way, corner of a ditching bucket a few years back, then they have banked up some silt on it to hide it, the silt is loosing moisture in the summer hence the dryness of the area.
  12. couldnt you just get a full time job in there rupe, that looks like heaven to me. imagine cutting that grass on a summers day. and then working on the trees in the frosty winter mornings. bliss. i used to work in a castle doing the grounds when i was 21, working in that environment was amazing. building up the log stores and having lunch by a fire. you really need to change the title of your thread and do it justice mate
  13. that buttress will of been holding a lot of weight over the years, its pretty far gone, even the epicormic is on its way out. why is the grass worn?has a mchine come through there maybe and given it a scuff, the soil looks pretty high there as if some kind of work has been carried out. the road must have lights on it, or can you see if a channel has been cut through the tarmac. thats a pretty fresh sign in the background, has the area just been re vamped at all?
  14. give me the precision cut lawn and sandy bunker landing anyday. i think he is confusing biggles with wylie coyote the time he lost control of his ACME giant rocket with saddle and handle bars:scared1:
  15. i would get a pair of the red boots that i got, cant remember their name but they are usually at the side of the page. once your feet are in they dont budge, and the sides dont move or the sole. solid comfy boots.
  16. when i left school i cut grass for a living but couldnt wait to to hedges as you got left alone and not stuck with the numpties and dog crap. 5 months solid used to love it, i still do when in the right mood, but the clearing up drives me mad. if i were doing your ones rupe i would use an electric hedge cutter, a nice little light black n decker. the finish is second to none with them, and no fumes or noise. that place looks stunning and would be a pleasure to work in. any before pictures to see the amount of growth on them.
  17. so if someone has went to college for 1 year then done 1 year with a tree surgery company, and they had a good attitude then they could get the job?
  18. ask them what they are willing to spend, its not off the shelf b+q prices.
  19. have you been to the doc yet?
  20. beautiful job rupe, stunning finish mate
  21. what is the minimum amount of experience needed for this job?how long does it take at college to get a level 3 qual:001_smile:
  22. was there any of that tiny white gravel on the paths rupe, the type the toffs like, it crunches under foot and is a complete nightmare to seperate from the clippings. i hate putting down sheets for trimmings. i bet you couldnt give it the big super stihl blow into the nieghbours side with that job mate, well done ha ha
  23. nope, but from what i can gather from here they arent very good. but we will soon find out.
