  1. Mate gave up with 2 stump grinders due to wire and stones in the unions! 2 hours but got it all out!
  2. Amazing how the grapple saw has come along! Turning hours of climbing into minutes of grab n cutting! Wensdays work site wasn't too shabby!
  3. First day on the job!
  4. Tidied the garden I could be bothered going for months by hand
  5. It's strange manouvering with the back end moving about!😂
  6. That looks the business Mick! thanks
  7. This should help mine ! best go , off to my weekly physio😀
  8. Good advice, the dealer is loaning me a set of forks with beak on it to see how I get on this week and I'll see what I think.
  9. I want to put a spare digger hitch on an avant mounting plate so I can use my grabs and tree shear on it and I reckon a tined grab like that would be the answer for most jobs
  10. Do you have any pics?
  11. Getting an Avant 423 tomorrow so looking for tips on what grabs work best and any other tips and tricks. Thanks
  12. My backs better now thanks to doing as little saw work and manual handling as possible. When I do I wear a hips brace and back posture brace support, when you are young it may be bad form as you become reliant but as you get older it's different. My battle now is Asthma from years of fumes and dust made worse with Anti inflammatory painkillers, it's management rather than cure. Have no back pain and I'm coughing and getting environmental triggers all day and night or hardly walk right, not sleep for pain but breath ok! Mechanise as much as you can and get a good mattress and seat warmer for your digger is what I recommend 😀
  13. Cheers Eddie, first job using the grab, I'll be keeping it for small timber handling, it's not a patch on the demo grab for moving bigger timber and speed of handling.
  14. -4, blue skys and sunshine!
  15. Regarding grab v grapple, it was more expensive for very little benefits I thought and reckon I'd damage it easier digging about in the ground. Sold the CAT yesterday, I must admit it's like lightening compared to the Bobcat as I did a wee job with it last night before getting parked up for new owner,
  16. First day of tree abuse I mean use!😀
  17. 7 breakfasts in a week! 😀 the days of staff when I used to feed the troops would of been double that I bet!!!
  18. Loads of power, not as quick on the controls but I'll be honest ive slowed down a lot and getting more done. The thumb is amazing! I'll hardly use the grab now unless It's branches for chipping. I only had the 1.7t for 2 months, then swapped it fir tracked dumper as contracts changed and it was more suited at the time
  19. More refined but certainly not as quick. im just getting used to it
