They are crap at their job, from the parking of the trucks - the boyish handling of the saw! That style can't be applauded , that was the simplest of tasks done badly!

Did what I could to this beech with a 46, spent about half an hour at it and thought it best to go back with 88 on Monday 150' drop if the root plate shifts!.

It's already piped for grab and rotator, I haven't got round to getting 1 yet. I need to get somewhere on the Mog made up to keep it:biggrin:

1, keep your rope directly below you at all times, good rope management is essential in tree climbing. It might be repetitive to keep pulling it up and resetting it below as you move around the crown. If your saw is dangling anymore than 2 feet below you it's going to tangle. 2 Conny won't sail through the air as its a big sail, it won't jump unless there's tension and you can cut quick. I tend to fell longer stuff at along the outside edge , as it lands back on the hedge, I keep cutting I tend to swipe and throw the butt. Simply judge it as you go until you get the feel of how the tree is playing, if you have to go smaller, go smaller.

Today, some not exactly text book cuts The Sitka tip was over a Bt line so I wanted it back about 3 feet, the old rip cut worked a treat!

Sap and crud may need scraped off the flywheel, my TW used to slow down on the no stress and let the engine die down too much. A wire brush will sort it.

My advise is do not assume anything!! Everyone has different moral obligations, if you let some away 30 mins early every week for a year, some will expect overtime for the 1 half hour you have to chat to the customer while they wait in your van or car for a lift home! Put everything in writing, sign it and remember your the boss and they are the workers because when backs are against the wall, they will remind you of this. For all of the above reasons, I don't employ anyone any more!! -
