  3. They are all much of a much imo, engine , pimp, ram and a blade. Mthe heavier it is, the sturdier it is. The wee wheels are a token gesture on a marble surface. I bought an 8ton from Fuelwood 4 years ago, it's solid! I got a good SPF deal, saved a few hundred quid and delivered to my door. Nothing has ever went wrong with it. Vertical is best , mine can do 1m if needed, more as little as you want, you can set the height so it's not going all the way back every time. It's a Thor I think. Get a swing lift or a winch and put pneumatic tyres on it.
  4. They are cheaper, not as comfy, basic as a basic thing. You get good ones, you get bad ones. When running any vehicles, mthe secret is knowing a good mechanic and welder. I've ran an LDV Luton for 5 years, she's awesome!!!! Engine went boom the first 6months, I through a grand at parts and it's never missed a beat since!
  5. I'd undercut everything behind the wire, that would drop the limb down, then I would get my polesaw and cut it free so it fell to the ground. then I would cut the top broken limb and it would fall on the ground, then I would cut it back to where the damage was. None of these cuts would be in 2 stages, just a single cut on the tension side so it held on a little longer. If the rest was to be felled, I would then fell the tree in the direction of the leaning top. About 8 minutes work all in.
  6. The guy could of been trying to get it away from his kids. He may have learning difficulties ! Let's not judge and wish him the best recovery.
  7. Things to think about. Bandit 90 is pretty small for crane feeding. Your hopper will get wrecked, and you will take out your stop bar. Operating the stop bar from the controls. If your seat doesn't spin in the tractor, your going to get a sore neck and back very quickly. If the controls are outside, it's not going to be pleasant and shutting things down quick isn't ideal. Disc Chippers don't like getting rammed with wood, it's easy done, I've broke blades with a 5" thick, length of Conny. Is this for just making life easier on the odd tree surgery job or for serious Woodfuel chipping. Most things that get adapted are always a large compromise and steep learning curve, and whatever amount of money you think it will cost, time and effort and loss of earnings trying to get it all to work will really add up. If you added up your crane, chipper and tractor and compared it against a valmet roof mount and small heizo and had work lined up for it doing Woodfuel then I'd go for the right kit. Just my 2p:001_smile:

  12. Depends how much rubbing is going on, if it's constant then any heavy plastic will do, or get a longer hose and keep it out the way. Use what you have. Google the right stuff and then copy with junk lying around your yard Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk

Now he has a credit slip after he sent it back.
