    I'm now quite convinced that small scale traditional air dried firewood is a dead business. Heard today of yet another decent, honourable well established firewood co in the South West packing it in. RHI / Biomass is the culprit; 3 new suppliers within 2 miles pumping out KD at £40/cube. Bonkers. Lots of manor houses with the heating at full tilt all summer, windows wide open, kerching, kerching, kerching...

    Pre 2011 to avoid a dpf I think. 3.0L will suit you better than 2.5 based on duty cycle you describe. Will also use less fuel but not sure they put the 3.0 in the single cab? Reckon you should fit a Webasto Hot-Start to rid you of short trip woes for ever.

    PM 10 most definitely does not lodge in the lungs. They do not go past the larynx. PM5 may or may not. PM3 and below does. Funny how SI chucks out loads of PM1 and UF but no one cares. UHC and other VP compounds are loaded on the PM surface; the P itself is not UHC. Liquids don't turn into solids during pyrosynthesis.

    That might explain the issues Subaru have had then. 10% is ridiculous, unacceptable. Ww's 20% is insane. Isuzu put an injector into the DPF atleast as far back as 2006 I know that; on the Z30DT engine so why not in this particular application?
