  1. They missed (or a missing) a trick there. Re the Nissan 2.8 atmo - that was just a google sorry and a used Patrol looksee. Don't know much about them. Funny how the Toyota 4.2 has almost legendary status yet Nissans similar one much less known about? http://www.4wdaction.com.au/forum/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=136333
  2. The 4.2 was naturally aspirated; the 2-8 blown.
  3. Patrol? 2.8 and 4.2 options
  4. LHD tho; you have to pay more for RHD. Leisurely hp spread over 4.2 litres and 6 cylinders = long life, durability, pure pleasure imo. Watch yer HG with that setup. Not quite as durable as you'd think that motor. Alloy block has its limits.
  5. So you ban diesel cars to supposedly deal with the NOx issue. Then you're back to increased H2S, ultrafines and greater CO2. More UHC too for non warmed up motors. Fantastic.
  6. Only over 7.5 tonnes GTW requires O licence.
  7. Update on "Electric over Hydraulic Brakes" My Mates setup is as follows: - Allows you to tow max 4.5 tonne. - Electrical side in truck - hydraulics modded to trailer in this case tri-axle ifor: weight limit 1.5t per axle. Installed by LUCAS - sadly now no longer. Doesn't know who would fit such a system now; they were the cats meow apparently. Cost £3.5k 10 years ago; est £5k now. No pics yet sorry.
  8. Now I'm really confused. Is D next to T on your keyboard?
  9. Not sure the Robins in my yard need any help finding food, rich pickings throughout the wood waste. But, yes, don't forget to feed the birds in this cold weather!
  10. I will get more info asap chaps plus some pics
  11. You'd spelt it with a middle D more than once so I thought it must be an acronym for those in the know!
  12. Irrelevant when you have this system fitted. I will go forth and find out how on earth it works and complies yada yada. Leave it with me cos currently I don't know the techy facts. Bit late to ring me mate now. First edit I think is the correct name; that is electrodynamic not electrohydraulic
  13. Plz excuse the ignorance; what is poDus as opposed to poTus? Thanks.
  14. Yes totally legal. He's the only person I know with the system, surprises me that no one else does it. He does everything by the book I can tell you.
  15. Have you considered having a trailer with electro-hydraulic brakes? My mate tows his 3t Kubota (on a tri-axle ifor) behind a 2007 2.5 Manual Hilux and has had no issues with the truck - the back is rammed with tools full time. You can start off in low range and swap stright to High when starting off; this you cannot do in an L200 or some other trucks due to the transfer gate configuration. I'm sure said mate would be happy to show you his setup...
  16. UNIMOG only = one thing! £££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££.... Even if they were free I wouldn't have one.
  17. Thousands of cars around with DPF delete...
  18. How come Sawtroll never appears on these problem Husky threads?!
  19. Precisely right. Higher bmep = higher stress. Simple.
  20. https://www.dubicars.com/2016-toyota-land-cruiser-pickup-right-hand-drive-diesel-42l-c195-54619.html :001_tt1:
  21. They are available over here. And nearer the £30k mark which isn't expensive when you compare with the eq LR. It'll be cheaper to maintain and last forever too so it's a long term investment. That's RHD aswell. Was a co on here backalong advertising - not overlander. One day... Was here: dunno who the co was: http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/trading-place/88406-landcruiser-pick-up.html
  22. These last two posts pee on Kiln Dried's bonfire quite nicely.
  23. 79LC. End of. If a Hilux can tow 3500, only that otherwise. Read Woodworks' thread re dmax. He's not the only one to have experienced issues, made worse by short journey duty cycle.
  24. Was a Saab specialist; I was quite relieved after limp kicked in at 50mph going up a good hill. Was crawling at 10mph all the way home - nasty.
