    Interesting; I had a sprocket on a 25" stihl bar (relatively new) go and wondered re the veg oil. Had absolutely no issues on shorter bars tho i.e. 13, 15, 16, 18, 20"...     Tesco vegetable (rapeseed) oil. £1/litre . You want rapeseed over sunflower as it has highest lubricity.

    Was only putting some beech thru the Japa earlier on, it was indeed beautifully dry after only a year under the tarpaulin; not so oak etc but the ash wasn't too bad. Need another heatwave for a few weeks

    You're probably right but each years new log merchants simply don't allow it; my mate sells 1.5m3 good dry elm, beech, syc etc for £80 - nightmare. I've only this season gone up to £70 for a mix and they don't like it! Janners!

    Nope; 0.7 loose - who buys a 0.7m3 solid lump of wood?! Such a lump would yield nearer 1.4m3 loose. Loose load is the term and yes the seller might / should have clarified that. Never had anyone (thousands) ask what the metreage is in solid timber terms. A 1m3 loose load in our truck has consistently been very close to 350 logs sawn at hetas standard length 10" since the year dot. Volume occupied by loose logs is always bang on - it's only fair and right. I think people see £ signs only. They'd rather consider £50 for 1m3 green elder than £75 for 1m3 bone dry beech No it absolutely is not! The "going rate" varies dramatically regionally, even within the same county; hell even woodworks on here is 5 miles from me and can get £20 more a m3 in a more rural area...

    £70 is for 50/50 hard/soft so atm that's ash/oak/beech and larch/douglas/mac mix. Guaranteed below 25% m/c. No vat.

    It's that 4.2 I'm after; had one in an old E-reg landcruiser and it was sweet; not that pokey in atmo form; the turbo they put in the later VX - yumm yumm!

    Apart from the bling new Ranger 5 cylinder and the £37 grand Navara V6 Outlaw (alloy block yuck), why can't the working man in the UK who wants the utility model (no glossy mirrors thanks or body kits but A/C ok) get more than 4 cylinders; a nice 6 cylinder machine with loads of tickover torque and towing prowess? No, we just get high pressured 2.5's whereas Ozzies and South Africans can get the Landcruiser 79 with 4.2 straight-6 or 4.5 V8 TD and a nice tipping body to boot. I understand Footloose 4x4 will import one for you and that makes me and atleast one other mate about to seriously consider going down this route and giving the 2-fingered salute to the euro trash on offer in blighty. RHD is an essential I have to add. Anyone done this? There was someone on here backalong with a LHD 79 down a mine... Car Export - Offers
