  1. Here's the latest old snake production:001_tongue:
  2. Yeah the samson ones are pretty good to be fair. When doing your tapers mate just try to think of why you are actually tapering it? What is it that you want the rope to do? Once you get your head round these problems it becomes alot easier:001_smile:. When it comes to PPE climbing lines its really hard to not get some sort of lump as the ropes are so tight there's no room to hide.
  3. Nice work Ben:thumbup1:. The blaze is a double braid and is quite a nice rope to splice. Rob are you getting a lump with your double braids or 16 strand?
  4. Apprentice!!!!. Nice to see you again bud by the way.

  13. Marlow gecko is easily the worst rope ive ever had the misfortune of climbing on!! Its heavy, bouncy and a nightmare to splice!! If i was to pick a 16 strand rope then id say go for some yale xtc or some edelrid xp.

  17. Nice work mate, looked a cracking day for it! Love working with my old man. Very rarely get the chance anymore unfortunatley.
  18. Crashed a ride on mower through someone's living room window, left jockey wheel down on chipper and drove into a speed hump with it. Brought the main street in the town centre to a standstill for 2 hours while we stihl sawed it off!! Climbed an ash tree with 16 phone lines running through it. All the fascia boards on the houses were rotten and as i started rattling about in the tree all the fascias sarted pulling down. Smashed a one off stone bench when a pessie bit of wood slipped out my hand. Broke a few fence pannels...................anyone wanna give me a job:biggrin:
  19. I agree:001_tongue: Cheers for the recommendation though bud:thumbup1:
  20. From the half way point to the end. You kind of have to imagine how the two are going to lie together inside if that makes sense?

  23. To get the crossover perfect: Make sure before you mark the two cores that the rope has been properly milked to gat rid of all the bagginess. Then pull the two cores out about 10cm each. You then need to lose about 50% of each core. It should look like you've taken a little bit too much off. Take your time with the tapers to make sure there bang on! Then suck them back in. If you find that you've got a bit of slack left and the crossover feel perfect. Then undo your knot and take all the slack to the other end of the rope and not into the crossover. You can get rid of bulges also by pulling the core out at the other end of the rope and pushing the slack up to your crossover. Do this at your own perril though!! haha.
  24. Philip also used to work for my dad under the kirkby outreach program!!..............Im guessing he got on the wrong bus at the end of the day and ended up down south!
  25. That's a cracking looking tree there mate!!!
