  2. Thats because isc swing cheek pulleys are crap:001_tongue: The cocoon and the link1 pulley made by ART are designed for life support and specificly on rope guides. Ive tried many different rope's on these pulleys with different eye's and they all fit through no problem. The most awkward ones though are the yale xtc eye's.......................this is because there not hand spliced:001_tongue:
  3. Too bloody right! haha
  4. I think it depends what wire you insert to be honest mate. The stuff ive used seems to spring back really well. In saying that though ive not had the chance to test it properly yet. If it dont work though, then i'll make myself another one:001_tongue:
  5. I was talking to nod about what to do for the best. Ive always had my doubts about soft eyes over cambium rings too. This idea does seem to work really well though. Lts face it,they all get stuck at some point!! haha
  6. Really nice Tommy! Gerbutts awesome at making these rings. Ive got one for the mother, two for me and one for the missus:biggrin:. Keep up the good work Gerr.

  10. Here's my latest splicing. Ropeguide 2.0. Just need to whipp it and use the heat gun and jobs a fish cake:biggrin:. Inside the large eye ive inserted some 5mm wire to make retrieval easier. First impressions seem promising.
  11. Here's an Oak i did earlier on this year.
  12. Happy birthday ya old codger:001_tongue:................have a good one mate:thumbup1:
  13. The lower d's are also rated to suspend too unlike standard d's:biggrin:

Vaguely remember watching something on an early saturday morning tv show? I'll deffinatly ring you this week too bud,had loads of crap on recently:sneaky2:
  18. I live about twenty minutes outside of notts mate if your ever struggling for someone to climb with? Got a park near us that we go on quite alot. Got alot of decent Oaks ans Beech on it.
  19. Haha thats pretty much how i do it! The only thing i found that marked it was the mrs nail varnish..................honestly its hers:001_tongue:
  20. Nice work Peter and brilliant idea for a facebook group:thumbup1: I hate doing black ropes like the liros and sirius stuff,i can never see where my marks are!! haha

  22. Thats a proper sized bar!!!.........................just think though, old Gerry Beranek used to have bigger than that a 150ft up a tree!!!
  23. I use a ceramic knife for high mod ropes. Goes through them like butter!! Mine seems to run really nice on my poison ivy. Took a couple of goes to get the right length though.
  24. Yeah no worries mate. Once you get your head round them, double braids are quite easy.
  25. Very nice Carl. Its really easy to splice int it mate? Be interested to see how well it performs. Ive done some smaller buries and there working fine! Its a very slippy core isn't it?
