  1. Couldn't agree more bob:thumbup1:. Im hoping to be a LOLER assesser myself come march(doing it with treevolution). I may take you up on that offer cheers mate. I think i could learn alot from you mate:001_cool:
  2. Cheers for that bob. Your method of marking and recording sounds really good and well organised.
  3. Hey bob where'd you get the label maker? Sounds like a really good idea.
  4. Thats commitment that bud!!! Im afraid id be in the van with dean, occasinally venturing out to make a snow man:001_tongue:. Its only just started snowing here....bout bloody time!!!
  5. Cs38's quite easy to be honest mate. The hardest one is cs30/31 just because there's alot of info to take in. The instructors though are really good and can see when someone's struggling. Dont worry about learning every knot under the sun because there's loads. All you need to know for cs38 is-bowline,fishermans,figure of 8 and blakes hitch. Anything over that is a bonus really. You'll tie them so many timea though you'll be able to do it with your eyes shut!!
  6. Thats amazing!!! Looks almost real!!
  7. Half an hour!!!!....thats pretty poor. I imagine the LCD screen would drain it a bit but thats still not great. The picture quality and colour looked really good though. So whats your verdict on it so far Rupe, worth the money or not?
  8. Nice vid mate, liked the trick with the rope!! Gonna have to try that one. Like others have said though the sound did seem a bit low. How long did the batteries last mate?
  9. Yeah thats not good bud:thumbdown:. I think if i was at work id be talking a bit differently. It is nice to look at though.
  10. That looked better built than my house!! We had to do something similar round here except it was on the ground. It was all built from surrounding tree products though, with nicely weeved walls and a secret doorway....Ray mears would of been proud! haha.
  11. Well this sucks!! Everyone on here seems to have loads of snow!! Where's mine,i love snow. Plus i broke up yesterday so could of spent the day sledging. It looks like someones just sprinkled a bit of icing sugar round here.
  12. No worries mate. Offers there if ya change your mind mate. Dont worry about gear we've got loads. Might give you a better idea what to spend your money on too!! haha
  13. Might be a bit far then mate. Was gonna say if you fancy a climb or something just to get a feel for it then id of been more than happy to help
  14. No worries mate. Where abouts in the country are you?
  15. Bloody hell!! Thats a first here too:001_tongue:. What a night eh!! haha.
  16. That vid was awesome!!! There was some huge trees there and some huge lumps coming down too!! The camera angles and sounds were brilliant
  17. Nice work mate!! Weather looked awesome, haha. Loved the animated show
  18. To be fair mate when you first pass you'll be quite slow to start with until you get a bit more confidence. If we have someone new start, they start off draaging and doing donkey work until we decide if they've got the right stuff. If they have then when we've got some spare time on a job we'll get them climbing. It sounds like your very keen though mate so i imagine you'll be jumping about quite quickly. It helps if you can get with a good company too who are willing to spend time teaching and encouriging you. Good luck with it all mate.
  19. Im sure Mozza will have some wise words to say on the matter. He's on a roll tonite!! haha
  20. Hey Shrek, have you used a spider jack before? I have a lockjack and a hitchclimber and very rarely use the lockjack. I think the lockjacks brilliant but does take some getting used to and can be very jumpy in the wet!!....I have never used a spider jack, just wondered if they were the same?
  21. There's a first time for everything bud. Dont get too used to it
  22. Actually Mozza's post makes more sense. Do that! haha Cool beans!!!
  23. If your willing to spend a few quid you could ring nod at tree worker. He's got some dvd's in called working climber. They look really good and quite educational. Im hoping there's gonna be one in my christmas stocking.
  24. Very nice mate:thumbup1:
  25. Thats tragic!!! Thoughts go out to family and friends.
