  2. sorry for going off topic but how much would you charge for a 6 cube trailer?? wood is 2-3 year old ash, cherry, sycamore.
  3. i have driven an mb trac quite a bit in agricultural work my opinion is that yes it can be good machine but also has its bad points too but like everything has. like already mentioned parts expensive and can be expensive when breakdown, the steering lock on them is rubbish and that's in a field or road i wouldn't be enthusiastic driving it in the woods etc, also found them a bit temperamental at times, also hydraulic pump is a weakness if its called upon a lot used to replace it yearly!!
  4. father in law had to have a tacho fitted in his new isuzu for delivering grounds equipment, to me it sounds like a lot of hassle when you have a tacho as well!!
  5. i am also looking for a tipper trailer was looking at the ifor tt126 but like steve i like the look of the atlas better. i would prefer a 2nd hand one though and think an atlas one might be a bit on the rare side! will probably end up with a tt126. will do what i need to do with it.
  6. you got one then. did you get it from caledonian forestry??
  7. might be wrong but believe that the dumpy bags arnt a cube they are more like 0.67 of a cube or summat like that.
  8. got mine two year ago in july and never had a problem with it yet! still on original bar an chain will replace for next season. output for me is approx 6 cube over a 2 to 2 an a half hour period depending on wood and setup. i find the hardwood not much different to softwood to cut and process. would certainly have another one again!!
  9. yep what would you like to know???
  10. sister in law has lost 3 fingers and a mangled up thumb and a broken wrist so do be carefull when using this type of equipment!!!!

    4X4 Advice??

everybody has their own taste and wants but personally i wouldnt touch a navara the reliability is not very good. know of a 07 reg one and the troubles with it have been unbelievable! rear diff packed up, the axle seals gave way in the hubs and gave the driver a scare cos brakes was non exisent! gearbox has been rebuilt and mpg is not good either! i know this is one example but have heard other similar tales cropping up in converstion. i had a hilux and that was a cracking vehicle brill lock and went well even though was a 100hp engine had no complaints. the ride was very good too. the father in law has just got a new isuzu rodeo and is oven the moon with it, regulary gets 30mpg towing with it and has got up to 38mpg on a good long run! got a l200 on the estate where i work and needless to say it wont be another one when comes to replacing it. just my 2p
  15. try spaldings.co.uk they do one and also spares.
  16. am running mog on white so thats a little expense! trouble is supplies of wood are drying up and would be happy to earn money with it than it be covered up in the shed.
  17. if i have a good set up and organized i can do 3 6m2 trailer loads nearly 4.
  18. i currently do firewood myself to sell on but lately have had some enquireys if i would go to another location and process the pile of wood that the customer has. have no idea as to what to charge for unimog, palax and my labour. any help would be much appreciated. tia mark
  19. ok ta for that. will get it changed tomorrow then i know it has been done.
  20. does the merc engine require a certain antifreeze or will any do b101uk??
  21. any chance of a pic please? never knew you could get a 4ws it sounds good.
  22. sorry to hear of your troubles, what mog have you got it sounds like a good set up?? my mog has been parked up for 3 weeks due to alternator packing up, no one wanted to refurb it so had to get a new un and that wasnt straight forward as you might think. also got a new exhaust so spent a bit this week just need to sell some wood now.
  23. if already had a tractor or a unimog etc you could get to places where a lorry wouldnt go. there is a converted one on ebay. be a cheap way of seeing if the system would suit your business.
  24. its only so fendt has the upper hand and more features etc.
