    hi arbocop yes i have been lantra trained but was 10 year ago, could do with a refresher as its only in last 3 years have used a chainsaw regularly. i put a new husky bar on in october and the processor is oiling ok as can see excess oil on chain, the chain itself is a husky and an oregon on the chainsaw. as for it been chisel or semi chain aint too sure what the chains are. its good job i can ask you lot!

    the wood was skidded out but nearly 2 years ago but the wood looks clean but suppose will be traces of it, wouldnt take much to blunt it would it?? its a husky and oregon chain.

    think would have a job cutting clients garden with a firewood processor! i do use a chainsaw just cut the timber up so can lift it onto machine but cut so far then roll over and finish it off. rarely cut wood near to ground.
  5. wow had no idea they cost as much as that!! is there anywhere close to east yorkshire that hires or sells mulchers?? even a well used machine would do what bit we have to do if price was right.

    have angle marks on the file holder at 30 and 35 degrees which one should i use??

    hi, am after some advice, am thinking of getting a bar mounted chain sharpening kit are they any good?? can sharpen with normal file and handle but seem to get blunt quickly so come across this equipment and sounds like a good thing. thanks
  8. it would be mounted on a tractor approx 130 to 180hp and looking to buy most likely or if too expensive maybe hire. have a bit of woodland to do.

  16. am also looking for a replacement chainsaw, currently have a husky but thinking of a stihl ms 280 what do people think of it?? not sure what the husky equivalent is.

  18. was wondering myself what would be a good rate to charge. have been asked to process a pile of wood sometime. for a unimog and a palax ks36 thought £25-30 an hour with a minimum of say 3 or 4 hours. what do you lads think??

    it doesnt sound like a bad kind to work with! the plan is to split it as soon as they start felling them and just stockpile it. how long to season roughly?? thanks for replys

    i have the chance soon of quite a lot of poplar, i cant seem to find info on it for its use as a firewood. i know it will come under softwood. any advice appreciated tia
  23. i looked into this with c&ex but found i couldn't have two diesel tanks etc as the potential was there to run on red when shouldnt.
  24. thats probably why not made any money yet!! i usually dont put the processor on the mog because it runs on white, use it for bringing the wood in and delivering it. have a fordson diesel major but its currently getting engine refurbed in my spare time. am trying to buy my own trailer when get saved up if i ever do that is.
  25. this is the trailer on the left! i dare not say much have sold it for its embarrassing!! its best load of hardwood have done. took me over 3hours this aft to do it. i havnt the confidence to ask that money for it stupid aint i.
