  1. As a guide (don't know the engine in yours) I pulled the last Kubota invoice (1st July 2014) : Fuel Filter £8.49 ea Oil filter £7.15 Air filter £ £25.62 Genuine Parts + VAT
  2. Love it. Good one.
  3. Sounds like hard work. Should have just collected some seed from this one https://www.flickr.com/photos/eat_thaaat/3150776702/in/faves-fartssica/

    Water Jug

Put frozen bottle of fresh water into the jug. No lost capacity and everything kept cold.
  5. Log Sales - Buy Logs | Timber bought & sold | Hard & Softwood | Kirkby Stephen | Cumbria | North West "We Sell & Deliver Logs Hard Wood £55.00 Soft Wood £40.00" Bucket full? Pickup load? Tonne bag? If there is one topic on arbtalk that will get people going it is unquantified firewood sales. Invest in a tin hat (and a moisture meter) or get specific!
  6. It is for wheeling out of the garage and playing with on the drive.. or at least that is what I would do with it. Sounds fantastic.
  7. Just the ticket for milling don't you think!
  8. We tried it with a builders chute which worked fine but was all a bit too much fuss for the return. It was easier to tip onto the floor and load bags with a bucket.
  9. What a way to go. Bad news.
  10. Tim, I know nothing at all about the work or objectives of the newly formed group so have no axe to grind. The only observation I could offer would be my definition of Jobs for the boys as unfair patronage within a closed group.... What is often perceived as 'jobs for the boys' is when people who have made a career out of well paid public funded positions move/drift from project to project with such ease. The only way to attain real credibility is to engage a mix of people who can work the grant system with a good dose of people who have had to face the fiscal realities of life from the private sector. Once some real hard talk descends then, perhaps, the necessary credibility and respect will be earned amongst the target audience. I walked out on the last quango event I was invited to. It was a very lavish event being run by people who had their hand deep into the public purse and attended solely by other groups who themselves had their hands deep in the public purse. Not one person was present from the potential group that the whole collective was supposed to be helping. I believe the only appropriate term to describe the event was 'a buggers muddle' Hopefully not a rant (alright a little bit of a rant), but an insight into how others might view public funded projects. I sincerely hope this will be different as, at face value, is a very important topic as rural anywhere is getting badly short changed.
  11. If the company really can't come up with 5 key words from the website brief I would be very worried indeed. But, if they really do need help, then how about: heley tree surgeon skipton yorkshire
  12. The Euc Omeo still in 2ltr pots. These were only sown early March this year. In my limited experience of germinating Euc it usually takes 2-3 months to get a decent seedling.
  13. A few photos taken this morning
  14. To recap, we have been over the years planting our own firewood fuel for the future. We set off with a more traditional plantation of hazel, ash and oak coppice but since the problems with ash were not going to be abated, we added alder, birch, maple and, more controversially, sycamore and some SRC Willow hybrids. I am braced for the rock throwing but please remember that we are not planting woodland, we are planting energy crops. I have been thinking about adding some Eucalyptus into the mix and sourced some seed from frost tolerant varieties. Even though I only sowed them this spring, I have had to plant them out as they are climbing out of their 2lt pots already (Omeo Gum) but all the other varieties are a bit more stable and will hopefully remain in pots until autumn. After 8 seasons and for what it is worth, my non scientific thoughts in terms of productivity would be Alder, Birch and Syc are proving the best with the SRC Willow and Ash a close second. Whilst this is even more difficult to quantify, the benefit to wildlife has been immeasurable and much more diverse than the most optimistic predictions. I'm very pleased with progress but the trial goes on!
  15. We try to put in 1000 per year. Some years it has been less but the last two seasons, considerably more.
  16. Keep em coming. Brilliant!
  17. Roundup worked for us. We pulled up as much as possible then sprayed off any regrowth. Only one application did for it
  18. Very clever. Lovely finish you have got there.
  19. OK thanks. I can wait for nature to do its thing with logs.... it is chip that I just cannot master drying in a poly tunnel.
  20. Would it be possible to describe in detail (or with pics) how the Poly Tunnel method works. How is the chip moved through it and at what depth etc etc I have tried it in trays but it is far to labour intensive to be practical. I thought about 1000ltr IBC tanks but thought the lack of airflow would just make fresh chip go mouldy.
  21. I wonder if its status will improve if/when ash takes a bashing?
  22. I fully understand your well made points and I do hope that a middle path can be found. However, The inverse of is that the Stihl policy is asking (forcing) Customers to contribute to the life support costs of 80% of their dealer network whilst a workable solution is found. As I have said before, within reason, price was never the issue. It was all about convenience and quality of service.... and I don't think that is a bad leveller for the dealers to contend with for our business. It is not meant to sound trite but I now have no Stihl warrantly issues at all and hardly any remaining need for spares come to that - The policy did not work for me so I have made alternative arrangements. Sad but, hey ho, life goes on.
  23. <p>£100 for all four. Postcode is PR4 6RR. Thanks, Mark</p>
