That sounds like carple tunnel syndrome, as it matches the discription that a good friend gave before he went into hospital. it was only a quick op and he was back on the saw in six weeks. Sting your hands regularly with nettles, natures finest natural anti inflamitory. It had helped reduce my symptoms of carple tunnel syndrome

If i can manage to work it out and i drink cider (the proper stuff not that fizzy stuff with ice), then you should have no trouble.

Get on the mailing list of you local auction houses, as they will have machinery from time to time, also keep an eye out in the local paper for farm auctions.

If you mean chainsaw protection, then 'chainsaw gloves' provide almost non excistant protection. Which chainsaw gloves are currently under review as essential protection. You would do better to worry about HAV as that will definatly have a long term adverse effect on your health. Any good leather glove will help to reduce the amount of vibration you recieve, or if it is wet the rubber gripper glove.

I am getting £15 per cube for forest grown poplar at the moment, which is borderline on viability. It is going straight into a chipper for cattle bedding. I could not give it away to firewood merchants. As above

Plums and cherries should be pruned after they have flowered, Wimbledon fortnight is normally when i do mine. On thing to remember with apple tree, is to check whether it is a tip bearer. not many variaties are, but i have inadvertantly pruned all the fruit spurs of one tree many years ago, needless to say the customer was not not happy the following couple of years when when the tree produced no fruit

Day rate for felling, and volume for extraction, unless the ground is particularly wet, or steep, then it is up to your negotiation skills. If you put the effort in to start with, then the owners will probably be more flexible if you run into problems. Good luck P.S. Keep records of time, fuel, trees felled, volumes extracted etc. You will then get a better idea for future ventures.
