  1. I agree, sometimes the smaller companies with the owner being a climber on site with a couple of qualified groundies are more in control of PPE and checks as they are on site generally undertaking the checks themselves. As Masterh said providing you have the correct PPE and its been checked to see that its in full working order the HSE should not be concearned over the ownership, however the owner of the company has a legal obligation to supply correct PPE and inspect to ensure its in full servicable order.
  2. Landscape contractor, and to be fair your right it gets used for loads of different tasks around the city and turns a lot of heads!
  3. Just as soon as I secure that watering contract
  4. Once again the council are preparing for britain in bloom and have the planters all in flower etc. the plants obviously need watering but surely this is extreme for roadside flower beds!! I'm not jealous at all , however I am going to tender for every watering contract that arises if it means running a brand new mog on it!!
  5. He did an excellent talk and demonstration of them and I thought they were reasonably priced too.
  6. Definatly not however he does get noticed! - I parked in the same place and there is no thread asking "anybody see this truck" ! I prefer a little more of a subtle approach!!

  22. Found this on an old wound on a Sycamore at a riding school near me, almost half of the tree has failed falling into a paddock
  23. should have named it at £500/tonne and brought a few more axes!
  24. If its only an interview you wont need climbing gear, sarnies etc (unless stipulated). I would turn up smart and punctual with current Cv and copies of certification held, you will obviously be asked on past experience, maybe tested on a bit of tree knowledge, legislation etc and also a bit about how you think you can offer something to the comapany and your long term career plans. I would ask them the obvious Q's on pay, hours, holidays etc but also on training policies and career opportunities within the comapany (if its a large outfit) I would look them up on the web and find out as much info about them as possible, then blow smoke up the @rse of the interviewer/owner!! Good luck!!
