  1. Argh And I thought I was being nice . What I meant to was thank you .
  2. Hell fire Im still on my prussik . If it aint broke and all that . Well I have tried blakes , VT GOTTA KEEP YOUR EYE ON THIS LITTLE BUGGER . I always seem to go back to what I know best . Mechanical devices for me are a no no . You no when your friction hitch needs changing . Keep it simple guys .
  3. The story with RB is quite odd . I bought it for £1300 off ebay. It came with the tipper fitted . I sold it 4 months later for £3500 to a local Drainage contractor / Tree man. I think the guy just fell in love with it . The best bit is the guy I bought it off in CAERPHILLY WALES only gave £ 700 for it . Such is life
  4. Ah yes . All hail king Stockers
  5. This is what I saw this morning on my way to work . A Willow tree had fallen and blocked the Rd . The L/A Contractors were attending also present were Cheshire Constabulary . The tree had brought down power cables and a small street light . The first two pics are taken on my way to work and the last three on my way home . The Renault RB 4X4 used to be mine three years ago and the present owner made me a real good bid so away it went . All this in my home town and I never even got a look in Dam Dam Dam I did try and rotate pics AAARRRGGGHHH .
  6. SWB Ive had a real tough day and am feeling worn down . The friends request has just put that smile back on my face .

Thanks for that fellow Wood Doctor .

  7. everything myself . Wouldnt let anyone start chipper . Wow ditto . Much more chilled now .
  8. I have mine made up at local saw shop . As I get most of my stuff there he does me a really good deal and I mean a good deal .
  9. As the T Shirt says Sh#t happens . Dead trees when removing are a pain . Even when lowering limbs pieces are prone to breaking. Best you can do is minimise the damage . Looks like you did a great job with that Crane.Branches will break off a dead tree with just the movement of the climber .
  10. Yes thats the one .
  11. Sorry Im rubbish with technology
  12. All this talk of big saws made me think about getting the 088 out:001_tt2: .Anyway I did just that with a new chain . 10 mins into cutting I hit an old large nail and fooked the chain right off the bar .Mind you it was over the top as the 64 did the job now its running better . Thanks again to fellow Arbtalker Mistahben for making the job run that bit sweeter . Boy does that dude sweat:001_tt2:Last pic is the of the bark spooky face Sorry I am always forget to rotate pics.
  13. I have been told the skylotec are good . The one with the hard leg loops . Worse thing you can do is nothing . You got to keep moving or you seize up . Best o luck .
  14. I Have a huge amount of respect for the way this young man dealt with this situation . Keeping his cool in the heat of the moment is very admirable . Tip my hat to you fella .
  15. Thats awesome . Tidy job
  16. We have a small spider in the Landy .
  17. I,m afraid its true 090 is a mans saw . Its an animal . Will shake you to your bones though .
  18. Your right but I always seem to work like a dog . Punishment from my past life no doubt .
  19. My first thought was £ 580 . Am I cheap . If Ive had a hard day and then go pricing jobs . I always seem to be more expensive than pricing after a normal day .
  20. Yeah but its one hell of a sexy saw and is always good in a photo . Probably a tad over the top though .
  21. There is an old guy round these parts that does a similar thing on a small scale . He has an old cottage with plenty of land. Lots of local contractors tip off chip and logs which he sells on . This guy will also burn your crap from the builders sacks if your a regular . But you do get the contractors that only drop off Conifer / Willow and the like . He only does it like I say on a small scale .Ive talked with him at length and he reckons theres a lot of money to be made . Mind you he does charge for burning if your not a regular .
  22. I have got a rather large pine coming down soon . I think I will get some extra help on ground and take a nice steady approach . It will either help or hinder my aches . Anyway its a gamble , well I will just see how it goes .
  23. £1500 / £ 1700 It will be 2 hard days if not 3 . The thought of raking up all that sawdust is making me feel ill . Like the guys say big big tarp .You want to make a good impression take your time and more work will follow . All the best . I love my 088 , 48 inch bar . This job commands decent money if you intend to buy or use an 088 . I always put the price of a new chain on a decent fell .
  24. Cheers I will try some of those tips out . Could do with a losing a few pounds .
  25. I really do try to take to much work on when I no I am already pressed for time . I have just agreed to work tomorrow removing a H/ C Nut tree. Anyway my new contact from arbtalk is giving me a hand . I am in the process of selling my old saws and replacing and downsizing the amount of saws I have . What new truck are you having and did you get a tracked chipper . I thought about putting one on a tracked powered barrow .
