  7. I often work with another contractor as and when needed . This particular day I was asked to chip and remove all waste , which i did .I was about to leave the site when an almighty scream came from behind the log pile . Chainsaw vs non PPE boot Round 1 saw attacks boot , game over TKO rd 1and the winner wearing orange . Fun and games aside after 9 stitches and a severe telling off by the other half hes ok . The reason mates rates rush rush and all that , hes normally so health and safety aware. Back to the boxing keep your guard up chaps and remember the mouthpiece and cock box are there for a reason.

  12. Are we talking about the game rather like a chess match in space with a dragon and loads of coloured shapes ? . I know of it but not the name . Ah to be young remember the Texan chocolate bar , Splicer and Paradise some coconut thingy .
  13. We were working at a nursing home for the elderly today . The residents took me to an old decaying oak tree just off site and told me of the visiting woodpecker . Never got to see it . Really up for some Coronet cutting now .
  14. Cool work Sanny , I have never given much thought to Coronets and the like . Think I will give it a go next time we get to do some habitat log piles .
  15. Husky King We used to have a hilux . The way we used to get the chip off the back was to get a measured piece of 1/2 inch ply and cut two holes in it either side then tie some rope to the holes . Place the board at the back of the head board fill with chip then tie the rope attached to the board to a tree drop tail board then pull forward . hope this makes sense .
  16. Yeah some trees are a joy to climb and seem to have loads of anchor points and foot holds . Then you have the trees that are out to get you . I always treat every tree with respect 12 ft / 70 ft . Swear down some trees just dont want you there . Must be age or may be i,m just paranoid .

  19. Thank you all for your input . As it turns out MOT tester meant ( Ball pivot joints ) which are located above and below the axle case . thanks again to all who helped . No Ive never driven the 3 litre version . I think the 2.8 at the moment is ample powerful for towing the ifor . mind you i have thought about a K&N air filter .
  20. If Im correct it was only a few years ago that wagons transporting sawdust were made to use contained units . Make of this what you will . When we are chipping dead limbs we use the dust masks. Mind you after many years on a saw I think whats done is done . I did have a severe Lung infection some years ago and the doctor ask of my employment. When I told him Tree work he just rolled his eyes and said this was a major contributing factor .

  23. Hi there people I was wandering if anyone has now or at some point owned or worked on the Nissan Patrol 1998 / 99 . The vechicle has just failed the dreaded MOT . The problem is that it failed on excessive play in the nearside upper suspension ball joint and the offside lower ball joint .I thought this would be the same layout as my landy but it is not . Please can someone enlighten me on this matter as I cannot find the said ball joints on the Patrol . Hope this finds all fellow arborists in good health .
  24. well you should get a lovely velour cushion to sit on , its transformed my landy seat . And youll need some duck tape . ( Blue Peter ) forever .
  25. I was told many moons ago that if possible unhitch the chipper before chipping as the vibration can lead to bearing damage on the chip truck . Just what someone told me , dont know if its true or not .
