  1. not too dear neither, 150 quid on ebay, thats good to know. Cheers
  2. The caravan mover is interesting i didant even know about them.
  3. Cheers Billy thats a nice rig you got there. I suppose any "bigger" kinda chipper is guna have its days wen you cant get it up and round that steep twisty tiny driveway. Keeping a smaller chipper that can get there seems to be the solution
  4. and yeah the extra power is very appealing ). considering my little petrol chipper now taken that thing to work will be great. Its safe to say ill be doing all the chipping that day
  5. Cheers for your replies, good idea about the winch that could work. im not worried about the truck pulling it im using the same van i used to tow a 2 tonne chipper a few years ago and it pulled it surprisingly well. Its more unhitching the chipper and pushing it around, the yard its kept in is a little bumpy, and i dont want it to turn into that annoying grudge job. Same for pushing it on uneven drives etc
  6. Maybe im not as decided as i thought on my chipper Does anyone know the difference between them, im curious to know why a mark 2 was brought out so quick as the machine ive found is a mark 1, was there a problem?
  7. Evening all. My chipper is due an upgrade and ive settled on either the a530 or a540. I dont have a whole lot of time though and there is an a540 ive found that i think is a pretty good deal, but im getting abit hung up on the weight of it. Maybe its cos my chipper now is a entec 125 weighing 600kgs ish and ive just got used to the convenience of how light it is. Ive worked before in a two man team with a two tonne chipper and dont remember it ever being an issue but i might be out of touch. Anyone running it in a two man team getting it everywhere you need to? Cheers

  12. I think its your skill thats impressive.
  13. Evening everyone, As the title says really im looking for an alpine magnum, does anybody have a second hand one for sale or know where i can find one? Ive searched all over the internet and theyre difficult to find unless you live in america, which i dont and it would be a long drive Any help much appreciated. Cheers Damian
  14. I use the magnum with the stihl 880 powerhead. I prefer it over the husqvarna which vibrated alot more, makes alot more noise and seemed to vibrate itself apart. Plenty of power though.
  15. Good evening, If there are any climbers looking for work in the medway area could you please pm me your contact details and experience. Its flexibility im after some days its hard to climb and keep on top of quotes. Company is expanding at a reasonable pace so could lead to more work in the future. Cheers Damian
  16. Afternoon, I often enough need extra workers so im hoping to collect details of a few people who are interested in work in my area. Will be on a self employed basis and im interested in good labourers through to qualified climbers. I cant offer a set amount at the moment it would be work as it comes up. If your interested please pm me your number, what part of the job you do, how many years experience you have and we can take it from there. Thanks Damian

  18. Evening does anyone knowhiow much the anti stress costs to fix on a entect 125? the little petrol chipper
  19. Morning all. Ive noticed with the greenmech chippers i worked with that they smoke quite alot on startup. one was a 220 series and also the newer 170 (hope thats right). The smoke comes out the discharge shoot and nowhere else but quite thick white smoke. It soon clears and doesnt smoke atal after but wondered if thats just how the where or is it the sign of something not quite right? Thanks Damian
  20. That looks really abnormal but kind of cool looking in a way, for now anyway until it turns into a pond
  21. ok thats been interesting to read thanks for the input Im just trying to learn as much as i can about the mechanics etc of these little things. Will be usefull when it comes repairs. Im interested to know at what point a saw is beyond repair, and if things like piston rings are realistically replaceable.
  22. ISC rope grab on wire strop for logging down heavy stuff. Seems ok, bit stiff and heavy if im fussy. Nothing compares to normal rope with an art positioner though. You really notice the weight differnece when climbing around a canopy and its so smooth compared to the heavy duty things.
  23. Evening hope everyones well. Trying to learn as much as I can about saws repair wise etc. Stripped every component of an old for parts 200t today and im know curious to know if you can split the body as if you was tring to access the piston. I can see the gasket and the line all the way through the centre but it feels solid and didant budge even when I got mr hammer and chisel out. ( dont worry i have no plans of using this part again ) So it is possible to undo atall is my question. All opinions welcome. Thanks
