  1. Thanks Chris, this is pretty much what I do at the minute. Max SR 100kg, so going for 90 for reps, but seem to go 4,4,4,2,Fail!, so trying to build a bit more endurance. Presently I'm taking no supplements at all unless you count Strongbow, so I might have to look at that!
  2. Brilliant Mick. We will have to try harder. Stevo has been up to his wood to find a massive pipe.... Stevie, I just know you have something in the, er, pipeline....
  3. Good stuff James. That tune brings back some happy White Island memories for me as well.
  4. Bugger. I can't make that weekend Mark, but I will send a pipe up in my place.
  5. That setup looks really short, neat and tight Drew. I'll have another play with it with the ring. The Knut is pretty bulletproof, but doesn't advance as easily as I would like.
  6. Never tried the Helical. Any good? (I have pulleys!). What's your preference at the minute Drew? My love/hate thing with the VT continues, but I'm on a Knut at the mo. Tried the Spiderjack2 with Ross last week and loved it for quick ascent, but didn't work with it.
  7. He knows more rope tricks than you already then mate!
  8. Steve, I've seen what you can do on here, and have a feeling that this tree must be a bit of a bitch if it has got you thinking this much. I suppose a recce climb is a bit late in the day now? All I can add is good luck with it. And can I have your new workout tower if it goes wrong?
  9. Nice one Steve. Can you tell me the measurement between the dip handles please, English or foreign. Thanks.
  10. What knot are you using with the Hitchclimber Tone? I've switched back from the VT to the Knut and think it will be the dogs when I get a new rope.
  11. I agree with Tim up to a point, but see nothing wrong in using freelance climbers for some jobs. I wouldn't send a climber up a tree I wouldn't climb myself, but money is the overriding factor in my business. If I need an extra man for a tricky dismantle I find I'm better off hiring a decent climber than an extra groundie. Lets me run the show, get the job done quicker (I'm not the fastest climber), wear my haggard old body out less, and make more money. We usually have a good crack doing it. I am against subnuts with no arb skills or insurance using freelancers to depress prices even further than they already are. Yes, I've climbed for people like this a lot over the years. You live and learn.
  12. I can't believe anyone didn't know this? How did my phone know where I took every photo in the album? Doh!
  13. Do you want me to send that long-haired kid from my free-climbing vid up to do it Steve?
  14. That is a spectacular failure Treemonkey, what caused it? Hama? Looks like a twister hit it!
  15. Hawthorn, Monkey Puzzle, wet Sycamore, you fellas really have it in for the free-spirited young hippy! No more slagging off until you post your own vids of you climbing like this!
  16. The problem sounds like your main anchor will be pretty weak anyway, so your breakaway would have to be really weak. Could you not fell it away from the building with a big winch and persuade the customer to move targets/accept collateral damage? (I imagine you have looked at this)
  17. Too expensive with Stretch Airs Dave.
  18. Working 100 yds from home was nice today, as I was able to pop back and enjoy a pipe with my daughter.
  19. It's been a poor response so far, but it's hardly been pipesmoking weather, so I'll let you all off.
  20. ARS saws are only missing the E, so I can't see their secateurs being better than Felcos. No2's here. Expensive for a reason.
