  1. That’s why all the top climbers must choose them in cold weather instead of the Pfanners then.
  2. Sorry Rich, removal of previous post makes it look like this was aimed at you. Please don’t hit my face!
  3. Idiot. If it’s not CE certified you will die.
  4. Kram, when all the experienced guys tell you something is really good do you just have a general aversion to believing them?
  5. How do you know? You haven’t used them.
  6. I’m still on my original pair. I’ve had to swap out the left or right a few hundred times over the years, but they’re still in pretty good nick.
  7. How can you comment on something you’ve clearly never used?
  8. No, the ice grips are still spot on Doug. I always thought the thin ones were crap.

  10. Ace grip lites have good grip Bill. Like Rich I use Pfanner ice grips when it’s chilly. Really good grip and they last well, about £7 per pair.

  12. Could be an American.
  13. As Rich says, if you’re relying on grip strength that much you need to sort your technique out, fast. I climbed like that a quarter of a century ago. I’m embarrassed even thinking about it now.
  14. Mine are still on the limb as well you Philistine!

  16. It’s a wonder that trees managed to survive for so long before we came along, invented modern arboriculture, and started helping them out.
  17. I was surprised they didn’t deck it. The real risky stuff was in the bag. Great watch though.
  18. Quite possibly Mick. I know @MattyF has had experience with conifers that have shat themselves AFTER being thinned.
  19. Best time of the year!
  20. ‘Promoted’ to dog toys! Love it!
  21. I did make this chunky half stool from a seasoned (outdoors) cedar log a few years back and it has done alright.

  23. Left it late today! Wordle 1,280 3/6 🟨⬜⬜🟨⬜ ⬜🟨⬜🟩⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  24. It will split for sure Alan, but hopefully not before Christmas. I could screw a plywood circle to the underside. It would probably still split but not move, if that makes sense? That would ruin the aesthetic for me though, so we’ll just see how long it lasts.
