  1. I would bring the ‘shoulders’ in as well.
  2. It’s been hammered before. If you don’t reduce those slender leaders at some point you might have problems, regrowth is never as well attached as naturally grown limbs.
  3. Right back atcha Doug! Wordle 1,334 2/6 🟨🟩⬜⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  4. Jesus. I hope you replaced that divot!
  5. Crew were probably based in the midlands Rich, cheaper quote!
  6. Well explained. No one is getting that down in a day, there’s not enough room on the ground. The drag must have been horrendous. I shifted the timber from a similar sized beech last year that a decent company took 4 days to get on the ground, albeit days were probably 8-4. When I say shifted, I stacked it in the garden with a mini loader. The customer then hired in a decent hydraulic splitter and sorted himself out with a lifetimes supply of firewood.

  11. Trick question - it’s ALL of them! Take that, bot!
  12. Any of the big firms would take you on mate, Ground Control etc. If you fancy the midlands Beechwood out of Coventry are always receptive to good staff. Bridglands at Cranbrook would be worth a call if you want to stay more local.
  13. I bet you said Aspen you Yuppie scum. You’re lucky you got in tbh.
  14. OK. But timber wagon turning up will just want loaded and gone.
  15. Twats like this OP need shooting. Steve you need to put a bot detector in for first time posters. A simple matrix of 16 Landrover Defenders with ‘how many of these vehicles have an oil leak’ or something.
  16. Can you get it roadside Paul? I could make a couple of calls but I may be about 15 years out of date! Probably 30-something tonne?
  17. No. Those torq heads are a real twat for stripping at the best of times. They are always full of crud. Any time really cleaning them out thoroughly (a dental pick is best) is time well spent. Make sure the bit is really well seated. Once you’ve cracked them it’s not exactly a big job to wind them out with a ratchet. If you strip them it’s a real f-on. Don’t ask me how I know this….
  18. I ‘passed’ my earial rescue (that one’s for you Mick!) over 20 years ago. Looking back to how shite and clueless I was, if I’d had to rescue someone the following week they would still be there now.
  19. Stupid word. Wordle 1,329 4/6 ⬜🟨🟨🟩⬜ 🟩⬜🟩🟩🟩 🟩⬜🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  20. Who is paying for that then? And an eagle-eyed rescuer already harnessed up? I’m all for competent rescue available for big takedowns, but for 90% of our work it’s bullshit.

  22. Would a mini concrete crusher work?
  23. If it seems too good to be true Dan….
