  1. Bit of a struggle after a good start. Wordle 1,270 4/6 ⬜🟨🟨⬜🟨 🟨🟨🟨⬜⬜ 🟨🟩⬜⬜🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  2. He also seems pretty calm and relaxed. Basically the opposite of me in a tree.
  3. I think a gob provides more control, especially with a chunky hinge. You can always nibble more off, you can’t put it back on.
  4. Wordle 1,269 4/6 ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜⬜🟨⬜⬜ ⬜🟩🟩🟩⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  5. Very nice! Try doing that with a capstan!
  6. Not working for me mate?
  7. That hangover must be a real doozy mate.
  8. Wordle 1,268 4/6 ⬜⬜🟨⬜⬜ ⬜🟨🟨🟨⬜ 🟩🟨⬜🟨🟨 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  9. It’s easy for you though because they’re more worried about your guns.
  10. 😅 Wordle 1,267 6/6 ⬜⬜🟨⬜⬜ ⬜🟨⬜🟨⬜ 🟨🟩⬜⬜⬜ ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  11. I know what you mean. We just seem to work harder and harder to buy shite that is meant to make our lives easier. Not all tech is an improvement anyway. To flip the back seats down in my Fiesta I press two levers and gently push the seats down. It takes about 4 seconds and a granny could do it (and has!). My wife’s Discovery had an electric version. It broke, and they had the car in for 7 weeks to fix. Progress?
  12. You’ve got them up there as well then? Bit of a run on them down here in Kent. Can’t believe anyone would ever consider taking them, not even legal tender. I often come back from Northumberland with Scottish notes, but struggle spending a fiver locally.
  13. Can you lose the VAT for cash?
  14. Where on earth did you manage to get that secret picture of me from?
  15. If my Transit had two wheels and no engine it would still be a better arb truck than your fictitious Land Rover.
  16. Wordle 1,266 3/6 ⬜🟨⬜🟨⬜ 🟩⬜🟩⬜🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  17. I’ve always thought the Russian silence implied it did happen. But what do we know? Even about 20 years ago there was more computing power under the bonnet of a BMW 7-series than the Apollo missions had. So why haven’t/can’t we go back more regularly and/or easily?
  18. Rough Cutter’s recent slagging off of my doggy old Transit got me thinking. It’s a battered old truck, but I’ve always said it’s a work truck, not a w anker truck. It carries chip, logs and rakings, that’s it’s job. 18 years old. No bells, no whistles, no air-con, no adblue, no ECU, no LEZ, no LGBT, no money back, no guarantee. I bet it’s done over a million quids worth of tree work in its time, though. That’s £300/day for 200 days a year. Not all my money, a £900 day might be halved in wages for hired in help, but the truck has done the shifting. How many modern trucks will earn a million quid? Long live the 06 Transit!
  19. I’ve no doubt we put stuff there, and I’ve always believed Neil Armstrong walked on the moon in 1969. BUT (and I’m not a conspiracy theorist), if we could do it with the tech available over half a century ago, why don’t we go more often? It can’t just be money. Musk could go there for stag weekends.
