    HS2 Over

You would like to think so Gareth, but this is the government, so I imagine it would be highest bidder.
  2. I remember the Old Man of Kent saga. It wasn’t long after that Kaiser Chiefs gig we were at. Navin Sehmi took it down with a 60m MEWP. Real shame, it wasn’t the best looking tree, but it was pretty impressive.
  3. Because it’s called Sycamore Gap!
  4. I had an original, very heavy, Dyson DC03 back in the 90’s and it was really good. Then the prick who slaps Union Jacks everywhere but was very quick to move his operation to Malaysia started churning out utter shite. They are truly awful. We have a Shark atm which is ok for light domestic use, but I reckon Alex would kill it in a morning. Most of the builders seem to use Henrys.
  5. As for the banks, yes, I learned long ago how much they deviously load things in their own favour.
  6. Fair enough John, the tree thing really bothers me. Even if the culprit was completely within his legal rights you’d still have to be a total psychopath to fell a tree that meant so much.
  7. Apologies. Let us know how you get on. Pics would be great.
  8. @Joe Newton can you help?
  9. Ha, no mate! Not this time! I was having a pop at renewable John for his comment that the tenant may have been within his rights to ‘coppice’ the Sycamore Gap tree, and then telling a very business-savvy member that he couldn’t read a simple contract. Maybe my tone was rude, but I wasn’t trying to drive him away from the forum, he has generally added to the site with decent input. 👍
  10. The very same. I’m pretty sure the decay wasn’t as bad as it was made out to be.
  11. Arborventure crew , Jo Hedger.
  12. We can only speculate at this point John. It doesn’t seem to stop you spouting shite recently like.
  13. I doubt the police SOCO’s would have been crawling all over the place if this was the case.
  14. Bullshit.
  15. Like?
  16. You don’t get it Alex. My Dad pointed out that tree to me 45 years ago. If you don’t believe how much this means to the community up there head up to a few local pubs with that opinion and see how you get on.
  17. Those of you who aren’t from up there won’t understand. Whoever did this will have to leave Northumberland forever. They will get punched in the face every single time they go for a pint for the rest of their lives. There is simply no excuse.
  18. JCB will insure your chipper. Direct Line are insuring tippers again and I got a good deal with them.
  19. Always best to err on the side of rude though, saves confusion later on.
  20. Windy spot there man. It was windy as hell last night.
  21. There were no targets near the Kingston Lacey tree, it could simply have been cordoned off. I remember Jeremy Barrell was furious.
  22. No one gains anything though. It’s not like there’s some greedy property developer waiting in the wings.
  23. That’s deeply sickening. There are some truly mentally unwell people about.
  24. That’s brilliant. Think how eco-friendly that really is compared to the modern electric car shite.
